Cant use every pick strictly to address need.

If the top tier corners are gone there’s nothing wrong with going with a LB or DL, especially if a top tier guy falls, which they should if all the corners go.

I have the same concerns, but there’s a good chance the 2nd tier of CBs (Stokes, Joseph, Melifonwu, etc.) will be gone by the time our 2nd round pick comes around. CB is such a need, I’d hate to come out of this draft without picking up a real potential starter at that position. The FA class (Sherman?) leaves much to be desired.

I would rather go into next season with Sherman or P-Rob than reach on the next tier of corners in the first. For the record I really do not want to draft Melifonwu at any round. I think he is one of those size/athletic freak busts like his brother.

would not want to gamble with our first round pick on a guy that exclusively played the slot in college that he will be able to play the outside in the pros when we have 3 slot corners already. Maybe in the second if absolutely nothing else is there that we could use.

That post you responded to was in reference to aaron robinson from UCF. I don’t think he was ever first round consideration. Asante Samuel played on the outside in college but his ability to do it in the nfl is in question bc of his size

I’d rather Samuel than Farley - sitting out your junior season and going pro is a red flag.

He is about 10 pounds lighter and doesn't have long arms like janoris

Asante samuel allowed the lowest passer rating last year of all the corners.

Samuel is probably going to go in the first. I like him. I wouldn't be mad at the pick at all.

Bringing up his size but the guy played outside in college and balled out.

He is big enough. Plays man and zone. Can also move inside, which is great. I really like asante samuel jr.

Hope Farley slides. I know there are some medical concerns with him. Same thing helped Lat slide to the Saints.

Lattimore slid out the top 10 in part because of a recurrent hamstring.

Farley has already had two lower back surgeries (L5 herniation/discectomy) and still has a bulging disc (S1) not worthy of surgery...yet.

However, Delvin Breaux fractured his neck (C4, C5, C6) and beat the odds to earn an NFL starting job, that is, until the Saints doctors misdiagnosed a fibula fracture as a recurring contusion.

Yep this is why I say he is not a lock to be drafted in the first. Saints may even pass on him

Unless Terrace Marshall drops to Saints, rather get a linebacker our d-lineman at that pick.

You can get quality corner in 2nd . Maybe not Kelvin Joseph, but one of those Georgia kids or Kary Vincent

All 3 played mostly stiff competition in college

One other note, maybe that tall corner from Syracuse?

I like Eric Stokes and Kelvin Joseph at CB too

Joseph could slide. He seems to be a head case.

I prefer Newsome from Northwestern. He is my pick if available.

You're right, but his general sentiment was spot on. Its not like the 2000's anymore when the NFL was infatuated with 6'5" receivers.

And I like Samuel - But I don’t think he goes in the first.

Not sure he'd last all the way to the Saints in Round 2 but I think he could definitely slide to the 2nd round.

I like how he plays the ball but when you watch him against the bigger WR's he does struggle more in coverage as would any undersized corner. I think that could be a problem in run defense too. He "may" struggle getting off blocks from the bigger WR's.

but he is game.

seems like a smart and confident player.

Great tape but can he be anymore than a slot guy in the NFL

5’10”
180 lb
72.25” wingspan
30 1/8” arms

Weight, arm length and wingspan are in the bottom 10%tile. That spells trouble vs Julio, Evans, Godwin, Moore, Anderson, Ridley. You’re talking a lot of bulk, height and weight in the south. Wouldn’t count out Samuel totally but im not sure I wanna find out in round 1
