what fricking OL have you been watching? If you think this unit has been playing well as a whole I don't know what to tell you. Brown and De La Puente were being manhandled yesterday, and I've seen Grubbs get put on his arse a lot this year. Enlighten me as to what I'm missing asswipe

our 27th ranked rushing yards per carry offense in the NFL is all the fault of Sean Payton's play calling and Drew Brees' pre snap reads bro. Geesh.

The Giants look like the team that could use him most IMO.

They're about to get Brown back.

Strief has done pretty good this year. Evans is playing hurt but still light years ahead of Grubbs. DLP is an undrafted FA, capable of handling a single A gap. Saints Oline is a system that REQUIRES two guards to play lights out and maintain their A and B gaps. If you are referring to them blitzing two guys in a single gap you can't expect a cut-rate center to handle that. He's that, he's your average center, nothing more. If they upgrade Grubbs the line improves greatly. All I'm saying. The entire line is not all that bad.

I'm not saying the line is not a major reason, but it's not the only reason. You can't say the entire line sucks because it doesn't. Grubbs is really the only one that overwhelms me with his ineptitude.

every time BDLP gets busted on his arse, he walks to coach and hands him his "i'm an udfa center and can only handle 1 gap and i got this grubbs guy next to me who isn't the best guard in the nfl" card.

"ok yeah the guys you listed are playing like shite, but they aren't playing like shite because one is an UDFA who isn't very good and the other is shitty, but they are not playing shitty IDIOT. Evans is playing bad due to injury, but he's not playing bad IDIOT"

Sorry for the harsh start to my posts, I apologize for the tone. Best analogy I can think of: if your manager is being paid $120,000 to manage his department, but he spends 6 hours a day for his "lunch break" at the strip club down the street and as a result the department you work in sucks.

Would it be fair to fire you for his ineptitude? He is being paid considerably more money to handle more responsibilities than you. That is my argument about Grubbs, the Saints O-line is structured around its guards. When one sucks, it affects the play of those next to him.

Trade him to Tampa and give them your 6th round pick to take him.

Maybe we could trade him to Atlanta. No way Matt Ryan keeps those blockbuster rushing numbers up.

Coaches/GM's approach and think of it that way dude. Sorry to tell you that. You just can't afford to pay everybody on the line wheelbarrows of cash, you have to adopt a model that makes sense both strategically and fiscally. Saints system is built around its guards, that's a fact. The center is important, but really he only has to call blocking assignments, block one guy and maintain it. A well-paid guard like Evans or Nicks were paid to maintain two gaps. Grubbs has proven he can't do it. In this system when a guard is not playing well, the center and a tackle usually suffers. DLP is not playing well, I will agree with that, but he is not the problem. If you look at the pricetags, Grubbs is proportionally more expensive and is therefore proportionally more disappointing.

Again, I apologize for jumping on some of you about it.

I cannot remember a year where I have seen so many plays where our o-lineman end up on their arse. Never. That said Buffalo is 2nd in sacks for a reason.

And just like Saints fans have been saying every single team see's the need to get preassure on the QB with the front four so as to drop more into coverages with the pass happy NFL. And at the same time our o-line has takin a step back. From what little I can see Grubbs and DLP seem to getting mauled the most.

All 5 positions will be looked at to improve in the off season I have no doubt.

I'm sure ATL could throw him in at RT. I'm sure he will fit better there than at RB, and couldn't be any worse than what we have now.

If we don't get them in the draft, we can't afford them, which will always mean you get a cycle of players somewhere on the line. It's one of the most complex parts of a football game, switching players in/out year to year is risky too.

I actually want to keep Ingram and would rather upgrade the offensive line.
