A fact is Hooker would likely be a top 15 pick had he not blown out his knee.
Hooker is not far behind the top two. What he does as well or better than the top guys is his pocket awareness and ability under pressure to deliver the ball. A huge nfl QB trait. I would not be shocked at all if we took him with 1st or 2nd pick.

Yup. If he wasnt injured he's easily in the conversation for the 3rd best qb in this draft.
Even with the injuries, he's a legit prospect.
I wouldnt be shocked either.
The game he had against Bama, etc. guy can deliver the football.

LOL. I’m a pedo because I owned you in several threads while you were dick riding personnel decisions over the last several years and keep sonning my lil guy Paul over here?
ETA: Noticing the lack of upvotes for my lil guy as we go along considering I noticed he was upvoting his own shite.

You should go watch him in the Bama and UGA games again- both games he was not that accurate downfield, missing guys that were open downfield. He had plenty of chances, some were hit and some missed in Bama game, so people didn't talk about it, but with far fewer chances in GA game, it made a big difference. Also, when UT wanted to throw a hail mary at the end of the first half, they put Milton in there, despite me hearing about what a strong arm Hooker has. I just think a lot of teams need QBs this year, so they are all trying to talk themselves into the great traits of the guys they can choose this year. I wouldn't be surprised if none of the QBs from this class really end up making a big difference in NFL.

I know youre not talking about the Bama game. Stats below. And a lot of folks struggled against Georgia last year bud.

Perfect scenario....
Saints pick at 29 and Levis and Hooker are both on the board.
Hooker will almost definitely be there. 1000% Levis will not.

Saints trade down to say 36-37 and pick up and extra 2nd this year or next.
You aren't getting a 2nd round pick for dropping from 29 to 37. You might be able to get a 3rd round pick in 2024 for that.

Then at 37 they take Hooker.
I love Hooker as a player, but this is too early for him. Even at 40 it is too early. With the Carr signing, the value Hooker brings to the table (Older player who you could throw potentially throw into a starting role and shake out where you stood with him very quickly) is greatly diminished from the Saints perspective.

Agreed that its only ideal for the Saints to draft Hooker if he drops.
But in reality, he's talented and may not last past the top 25 picks. Very possible that a team needing QB insurance goes for Hooker. I really like the Carr signing, but guys like Carr, Cousins, Prescott, Goff, Geno Smith, etc. are all the types of QB's who are aging, and still really good, but have no guarantees that they will still be really good far past 35 or so.
Only elites have been good till 40. Brees, Brady, etc.
Even Matt Ryan (trash by 36/37), Eli Manning (35), Phillip Rivers (play fell off at 38/39), and Big Ben (play fell off at 39) didnt make it to 40. Eli and Ryan's last good season was at age 35.
Point is its smart to see that Carr will likely still be good for about 4 to 5 more years, and prepare for insurance, alternatives and/or groom his replacement.
