How do you do it? I know I’m being irrational but I never want to see Marcus Willams in Saints uniform again. I even told myself before the game that this was a special year and we’ve already surpassed all expectations. However after the loss I feel like I did after the 49ers loss in 2011 divisional round all over again

I'll put it this way.

Diggs scoring on that play is probably less of a miracle itself than the fact that we were somehow able to take the lead in a playoff game after being down 0-17 at halftime. We certainly could have won the game, but we really shouldn't have.

Some of us have been Saints fans for a long time, we suffered through many decades of heart aches, 2011, this, but we don’t waiver. Unlike some of the gaywads on here.

A top 10 defensive rookie of the year who played his arse off as the only reason we were even in that position is because of his interception and he has a bright future here as an elite safety and you never want to see him again?

Brees threw 2 pucks today. You still want to see him?

If you can't see we are building something special here and this was just a step on the road I don't know what to tell you

I grew up. I have many other interests and a family. As you get older and more things vying for your attention, you'll get over this quicker. I've also been through many of these in the past.

Remember, this really has nothing to do with you and those players don't even know you exist. When they won the Super Bowl nothing really got better in anyone's life outside the team. Conversely, when they lose, nothing gets worse in yours.

At the end of the day it's just football. Not a big deal.

Pretty much this. We have our health, our families , live in an awesome country with a frickload of luxuries. Football is fun, but it’s still a game. That you watch on tv played by guys that have no idea who any of the people on this board are.

Well it starts with realizing that despite this being an absolutely gut wrenching loss it is just a game. Then you think about if the team did their absolute best. They could have given up when most of the fans seemed to have. They kept going this season after having lost a ton of players to injury. Then realize that they far exceeded expectations. And then you revisit the last two drafts. This team is headed in the right direction and has a lot of young players that are the cornerstones of the franchise. Lastly you realize that while Brees is not the Brees he was 3 or 4 years ago, in a league where bortles, Keenum, foles have their team in the divisional championship, he is still good enough to help this team compete for at least a couple more years.
That's the best I can do. It sucks, and I am sad as a fan, but we will be back.

Heavy price was paid for that horrific misplay. Don't allow another team to profit/benefit from lessons learned

Saints had a great season. Sucks it ended like this but we started 0-2 and then made some adjustments and pulled off 8 in a row.

Injuries were critical again this year.

I am amazed we shut down the Vikings in the 2nd half and pulled ahead until the end.

Regardless, great season and next year with people coming back from IR we should be built for the playoffs

Sign Brees to a 3 year

Im a little drunk but I have always been a half glass full kind of guy. A little a bout me I have Crohn's disease and have had five major surgeries and will most likely live with a ostomy bag for the rest of my life so in the grand scheme of things this is just a game and im only 28. So this season was a breathe of fresh air from the three consecutive 7-9 season. Marcus Williams made a mistake but had a great rookie season and also had a big interception in the third quarter. Calm down. This team is set up for the future if they can find a QB for the future after Drew Brees sky is the limit. Yeah this loss will sting but this was an awesome season. So enjoy the ride at the end of the day you get to go home and enjoy your family and friends. I know Im drunk so im going to sleep. WHO DAT!

If you show me someone who doesn’t mind losing then I will show you a loser.

Really? Kill myself? That’s your answer? You advise people to take their own lives?

Many have already stated some great points..

Just to add...

This is entertainment. Watching men we don't really know excite a city is fun.
They win some.. they lose some. This loss hurt because these guys we don't know came together.. put together one hell of an unexpected year and loss in gut wrenching fashion.
But ultimately, I will go to work tomorrow.. continue my life, and enjoy what the saints did.
I enjoy the sport. The strategic aspects of a game of inches.
It was a great game. I was just on the losing side of it..
But I have faith we will be on the winning side of it next year..
These young players now know season ending defeat.. and it will motivate them for next year..

I treat it like it should be, a football game. I take the reality of our situation (injuries) and face the fact we had an incredible run in the end.

I also look at the fact that, after watching through the Billy Joe days along with the '09 Super Bowl win, everything else is gravy.
