It doesn’t matter how many great draft picks we make without a championship caliber quarterback. Winston? Dalton? Give me a break. Until we get a great QB, what difference does it make? Saints cannot be great with the QB’s we have. Without a great QB, you can’t compete for a championship. Cincinnati went to super bowl in Borrow’s second season. Without him they would still have a losing record. They better get a QB or they are middle of the pack. We’ve seen this before.

they have one, but what exactly do you suggest swami? im sure if there is a super bowl caliber qb available and affordable they'd listen to your suggestion

Unfortunately, this is a horrible QB draft.

We don't have the #1 overall pick & there is no Burrow.

Don't force something just bc we don't have an elite QB.

Willis is a great athlete, but he's also a project. He's far from a sure thing. I do like his ceiling though.

Does anyone really believe Willis or Dalton can lead us to a championship? If so, I have some Arizona ocean front property I’ll sell you. Gotta be real. In today’s NFL you have to have a great QB to compete for a championship. Be real people. It’s the truth

Does everyone remember what it was like before Drew Brees? He spoiled us. He was a great QB. We pretty much sucked before him. Sacks over our heads. Remember? Do we want to go back to that? We have an outstanding defense, but without a great QB we cannot compete for a Super Bowl. Period

There is a part of me that knows we are either eyeing a qb or we like Jameis enough to ride him at least two years for us to trade away next year’s first and have no shot at a qb in the 2023 draft. Unless we counting on Sean to net us a first

Problem is when you look at Winston, Willis, Pickett, Howell…. The best option is Winston. Every team scout or front office person interviewed has said this is a bad draft for QBs and Willis is the only QB worth a 1st round pick because of skill set. Not bc he’s some sure thing. Therefore, best approach is to stick with Winston and build a team around him.

If he surprises everyone and truly turned a corner, you’re set. If a great QB becomes available, you will have a compete team around him putting you in a better position to win

i dont think anybody would disagree with your statement...just dont agree on Malik Willis being a "great" qb...hell I dont think hes even any better than the one we have now

Well there’s not one of those types of QB in this draft so it doesn’t matter. There may be a couple mid tier starters in the group but I don’t see a star.

Dude did you really need to start another thread about quaterbacks to piss on Winston? Couldn't you have just clicked on one of the previous 200 threads about the topic?

Do the board a favor, go be a bengals fan since we can't win with jameis.

And guess what...everyone is "incapable" of winning the superbowl until they do. Stafford was stuck with a poo poo platter his whole career.

Not saying Winston will win one but jesus christ he is by far our best option right now

GET A QB. Rather a Vet. You cant do anything without complimentary talent that surrounds a QB.

You sound like an armchair analyst who had a few bud fats tonight and decided to make his thoughts known on Saints Talk.

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. Trent fricking Dilfer.

Over the last 15 years here are some Super Bowl winning QB’s

Eli Manning (twice)
Matt Stafford
Joe Flacco
Nick Foles

I think Winston can be as good as any of them. Is Winston Brady,Rodgers, or Mahomes. No, but he’s does have to be. His contract is $30 mil. Less. That is a lot of good players to add around him.

Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson and Joe Flacco have Super Bowl rings.

So.
