“(Smith is) playing well and what I mean by that, practicing well, training camp – we’ve got to find ways to get him more touches,” Payton said Wednesday morning. “He’s handling our installation, he knows what we’re doing gameplan-wise and I think he’s ready to prove that.

“A lot of that just comes by, A, design (and) B, opportunities where the coverage or the play design puts the ball toward him. That’s one of the things that we’ve got to keep building on.”

He's going to have a huge game sometime soon imo.

He's not the high volume reception WR that Mike Thomas is (at least not yet), but he's much more capable of having a big chunk play.

Solid hands as well.

I drafted him as a possible keeper very late in one league. I was hoping to see some flashes. I was about to drop him

I wouldn't do that.

I think he'll be one of those boom/bust guys this year. Couple of small games, & then a huge game. You just have to pick the right time to start him.

How so? Are you saying that you can't pick & choose when to start someone?

I haven't played fantasy football in like 6-7 years, so maybe I'm talking out of my arse. That's definitely a possibility.

You can but you normally don't take chances playing boom or bust players if you can help it.

He may be a good flex option at times if Payton follows through.

Oh ok, I see what he meant then. I guess he could end up being a good BYE week fill-in if you're lucky.

He's definitely worthy in a keeper league. Chances are that he'll be the #2 guy next year...Ginn (age) & Meredith (injury) aren't sure things going into the 2019 season.

Yea if you are plugging and playing that means your team is trash. But nobody cares about fantasy here, lets move on.

Drew Brees said on the radio tonight that he expects Smith to become more involved in the offence. I drafted Smith in the later rounds and dropped him yesterday. We will see.

Smith , Meredith, and a good TE could take our offense to an elite level.
