Garrett Wilson got 4 yrs $130M

This is the minimum that his agent will come to the table expecting

We absolutely cannot do this. He is not even close to worth that value. We still have him on the 5th yr option through the end of next season...imo trade him now for best value, but I'd even be fine trading him next season as long as we do some work in the offseason to get him replaced (ie select a WR in first 2 rounds)

Olave is the prime target for a deadline trade on this team due to reasons below. He's also one bad hit away from retirement. Deal with it.

I don't give a flying frick if he's traded. but you're snarky thread like it's a foregone conclusion is as dumb as all the rattler bs. the cope mechanism by which all you retards use to deal with the rebuilding state of this franchise is weak.

It's a forum. Logical arguments have been presented. Meanwhile you're just angry ranting because ??. Don't click the thread if it bothers you so much. Idiot.

Jaguars have 13 picks in 2026 and their WRs are lacking. Sitting at 4-1, they would be a target to watch. They hold (3) third round picks and (3) fifth round picks

Jaguars were the next team I considered, I just think Steelers are more prepared to win now with Rodgers most likely only being there this season, and if he's not there next year then it gives the new QB a good WR pairing in Metcalf & Olave

I did not realize that Jaguars had that many draft picks in 2026 though. In that case can we send them Olave & Cooks for (2) 3rds and (1) 5th?

Or hell Olave/Cooks/Ruiz for (2) 3rds, (2) 5ths, (1) 7th???? How much cap space would that save us for 2026???

Take some of that cash saved and sign potential replacements for Olave who's tag is $15.6M next season:
-WR Jakobi Meyers; He's due for a pay day, may be more than we need to pay for WR2 but I'd rather take the chance & pay him instead of playing Olave. Meyers has been productive in New England and Las Vegas despite playing on bad offenses with subpar QBs.
-WR Jauan Jennings; Had a good '24 season, we'll see this season if that was a 1yr wonder or if he's the real deal. I would think he'd cost less than Meyers
-WR Alec Pierce; Big play potential and could benefit from change of scenery

Potential replacements for Cooks that should cost less than his $7.5M salary:
-WR Marquise Brown
-WR Dyami Brown
-WR Jahan Dotson (previous experience with Moore at PHI)
-WR Elijah Moore
-WR Van Jefferson

4th round pick

I hope for at least a 3rd rd. pick considering what Loomis traded for Vele.

Lots of questions.
Does CKM see a future with him and a future with a qb he doesn't have yet.
Does Olave want to hit FA and get his best deal.
Will Olave bring back a decent pick if traded.

I don't see a extension coming for him.
I don't see Saints in a bidding war for him.
I don't see CKM in love with Olave.
I don't know the low ball offer for him that would make the Saints keep him for his last cheap year then part ways.

In the end I think he will be traded but the buyer will give what they give who knows. We are deep in small WRs.

Mickey keeps Olave in a Saints uniform, believing we are only a few key pieces away from being Superbowl contenders. Only to screw the franchise and salary cap up for years to come.

And will be do a huge contract with substantial concussion concerns. He needs to be traded so that we do not commit a huge contract to a good, not great, WR.

He’s still a legit receiver on a roster with not many of them. And he’s under contract next year. You can always let him walk and get a 3rd round comp pick if u don’t want to pay him in stead of giving him away for a 5th like people want to do on here….

lol, Wilson is a true number one receiver. Olave is a number two. With injury issues.

He’s not getting paid that much.

What four year deal do you expect the Saints to offer and what do you think Olave and his agent are looking for?

PS
Its a great market for WRs right now. And Olave despite what many here think will not be cheap.

Jags or Steelers would make a star out of him.

B-tier or high end WR2 low end WR1 value

DK Metcalf: traded for a 2nd rounder. Still received what 4/132 (33mil?)
Terry McLaurin: 3/97mil (32.33mil)
Brandon Aiyuk: 4/120mil (30mil)
Tee Higgins: 4/115mil (28.75mil)
Jameson Williams: 3/80mil (26.67mil)

If Garrett Wilson and his 32.5mil is the ceiling, than the floor is easily Tee Higgins. He's more proven & done more in his time than Jameson Williams.
