Saquan Barkley,Devin White,C.J. Garner, Bryce Huff,

Throw in Zack Baun

Seems to be winning Free Agency.
Looking to be dominant in 2024, at least on paper.

We play them this upcoming season too

They still have Jalen Hurts playing QB while losing Kelce and Cox.

Saquan - not the same RB as he was when he was drafted
White - love him, but he's not a great LB in the NFL
CJ - he was made to play in Philly
Huff - great acquisition
Baun - only showed flashes of being useful outside of ST

When have we ever seen this result in a Super Bowl title? “Winning Free agency” is one of the more overrated concepts in pro football.

I can easily see this offseason turning into a huge bust.

Barkley, White, CGJ, and Huff could easily be expensive failures.

Yeah Barkley never has been the most durable player.

Huff was just a rotational player with the Jets but he is a good pass rusher.

Devin White is a great NFL linebacker. Why do you think he isn’t?
2020: 140 tackles with 9 sacks
2021: 128 tackles with 3.5 sacks
2022: 124 tackles with 5.5 sacks
2023: 83 tackles with 2.5 sacks/2 ints

Barkley should be playing WR. He doesn't play within scheme as a RB and has Barry Sanders' syndrome. And yes, he's hurt a lot.

Great pass rusher who sucks against the run. He's not a full-time player and is getting paid like one.

White and GJGJ may both gamble enough and suck in coverage enough to tank their D.

Can you post actual arguments about his play?

Great NFL linebackers don't get let go and then signed to 1-year deals for small money.

The Hurts regression is real. Give them a few weeks before AJ Brown and Barkley start publically calling out Hurts.

It was such a odd crash. Last year he asked to be traded but bucs refuse and he must play. Has his worst year injuries or not and then proceeds to philly on a one year prove it deal. The guy was due a big second contract. Somebody really screwed up.

Devin White

Devin White, CJGJ, and Barkley all are guys who go for big plays and ignore the scheme and their duties.

Fangio has very defined roles and isn't going to take shite from these guys.

Now, the Fangio scheme creates major opportunities for production for the FS and off-ball LBs. If they finally play with discipline and within scheme it could completely change the trajectory of their careers.

White's name is arguably bigger than his recent reputation, as the former No. 5 overall draft pick was demoted late in the 2023 season for a playoff-bound Buccaneers team. His apparent tendency to freestyle within Todd Bowles' defense reportedly had a hand in his benching, though the ex-LSU star posted gaudy numbers earlier in his career.

quote:

White also was famously called out by Bucs legend Warren Sapp for loafing against Baltimore on Thursday Night Football in 2022. In the same game, White got absolutely owned by Crows center Tyler Linderbaum.

I can't find the article now but it listed several plays in big playoff games where he whiffed on tackles because he was freestyling.

Chauncey does the same thing, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't

Probably 60-70 percent of free agent signings where players change teams don't work well. There's usually a reason a team is letting a guy get to free agency, and it's not always because they can't afford him. Usually, it's they don't want to afford him.

Guys like Brees and Demario Davis are the exceptions, not the rules.
