And officially... welcome back to the playoffs Saints Talk
Neither Foles Magic nor the cold can stop the Saints
After a full week off for our beloved Who Dats, it's the Divisional Round of the playoffs tonight as the Black & Gold face a second meeting against the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Yes, the Saints did send the Eagles to the low point of their season earlier this year when New Orleans crushed Philadelphia 48-7 in the Superdome, sending them to a 4-6 record and seemingly too far back to make a playoff run. But since that game, the Eagles have won 6 of 7, including last week's infamous "double doink" win over the Chicago Bears in Chicago in the Wild Card round.
But what's to stop today from being like November 18th? Yes, they're riding that Foles comeback train like the end of last season and this time they have former Saint Darren Sproles playing, but Philly's defense is still in shambles and the Saints are as healthy as they've been pretty much since BEFORE that first Eagles game, esp on the offensive line where Terron Armstead, who was out against the Eagles, is expected to play today.
That takes us to our injury report, which shows that the 2 weeks off did A LOT of good for the Who Dats with Simmie Cobbs as the only Saint with any kind of injury designation, which means ALL of New Orleans' main players are up and ready to go today. Meanwhile, the lack of rest has the Eagles hoping some beat up bodies can continue to perform. Four Eagles are listed as QUESTIONABLE after having only practicing on a limited basis during the week; DE Michael Bennett, OT Jason Peters, WR Mike Wallace, & WR Shelton Gibson was a Friday add to the injury report with a hamstring injury. Philly's other QUESTIONALBLE players who did fully practice on Friday are LB DJ Alexander & CB Sidney Jones.
LET'S END THE DEFENDING CHAMPS'S SEASON AND CONTINUE ON TO THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME NEXT WEEK!!!
