quote:

we’re told, fewer than 200 pages of information, arising from 16 total documents, which includes among other things handwritten notes, the email from Mike Ornstein containing the reference to the alleged $5,000 bounty on Aaron Rodgers, and seven different Power Point presentations shown by Saints coaches to players.

quote:

Surprisingly, the “evidence” produced by the NFL includes things that clearly aren’t evidence. For example, the league’s submission includes the rambling 10,000-plus word online manifesto posted on May 31 by Sean Pamphilon, and a June 6 article by Mike Triplette of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, in which he interviews linebacker Scott Shanle.

quote:

but it includes no evidence of players being paid to inflict injury, players paying others to inflict injury, or players offering money to others to inflict injury. For example, the NFLPA has yet to locate in the packet any evidence establishing that linebacker Jonathan Vilma offered $10,000 to anyone who inflicted injury on Brett Favre or Kurt Warner during the 2009 playoffs.

Perhaps most significantly, the submission doesn’t include the bounty ledger about which Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported a couple of weeks ago.

Goodell said all these things happened, so I believe him. We don't deserve to see any evidence because we are mere peons whose money pays Goodell's salary...

You're right. How could I have ever thought otherwise? *sigh* back to my miserable life as a peon.

I hate Goodell.

We need to accept everything that Goodell and other authority figures say a face value. All the time. Who needs pesky things like facts, logic, and reason?

Why should anyone listen to what Naiphon said? He was only around the team for an entire season and he didn't see or hear anything about bounties. Obviously, he's another conspiracy theorist who is obsessed with silly concepts like truth, logic, and justice. We should avoid people like him because he disrupts the narrative that was given to us by our Ultimate Leader.

In the spirit of transparency, the NFL should come forward with ALL evidence to avoid looking more foolish. And you would think the evidence they DO show would have a lot more substance than this.

The thing about this is a lot of fans (Saints and everyone else) are sick of this story, and yet it never stops. The more the NFL leaks out info, it's like "Wait..wut?"

You wouldn't expect this from a professional organization, but yet (as of now) it looks like they've been taking some creative license with the evidence they have. Unless they have something more damning they're not showing anyone, I'd say some better damn well happen.

We have two people who are suspended for a year, and for one of them it might spell the end of his career. How can this happen? I mean Big Ben most likely raped a girl and he got 4 games. If none of the players laid cash on the table to take another player out, then how in the world are these punishments justified?

I've been wanting to move on like many of you, but at the same time I can't because I'm so fricking mad that the league has perpetuated this bull shite narrative and severely hindered a NFL franchise with such a loyal fanbase. And the shite of it is that most people don't care that our name has been drag through the mud, and we're just cheaters, whiners, thugs etc.

Yeah, I'm mad.

I think we all owe Mike Florio a thank you.

He's the only national sports writer who's been following the story with an open mind.

He hasn't been the only one. As a matter of fact, most of the national writers have reconsidered their "Saints-Are-Guilty" stance, even an obnoxious/irresponsible hold-over like CBS' Mike Freeman.

But Florio certainly has been the loudest (most consistent/frequent) one of the bunch to challenge Goodell's BS.

Does anybody else keep thinking that at some time, Roger Goodell is going to come forward laughing, admitting that he punked the sports world and was just kidding.

I mean this is fricking ridiculous. And for anybody that says the Saints fans should just deal with it, deserves to be falsely accused of selling drugs out his house. Just deal with it.
