1. Marshon Lattimore, CB, New Orleans Saints

PFF Grade: 93.9

PFF Elite Stat: Lattimore has surrendered 0.63 yards per coverage snap this season (yards given up divided by snaps spent in coverage), the fifth best rate among corners.

No surprise here, Lattimore continues to lead this race for PFF’s Rookie of the Year award as we close out Week 10. The rookie sensation received his first game grade since Week 1 that was below 80.0, but at 75.8 it was by no means a disastrous performance and if that’s him on an off-day, QBs all around the league have my sympathy when they must face New Orleans. Opposing quarterbacks have targeted Lattimore in coverage 35 times this season and have earned just a 42.3 passer rating on those 35 throws.

quote:

4. Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints

PFF Grade: 84.0

PFF Elite Stat: Kamara ranks third among RBs with an 81.1 elusive rating.

Kamara has been on a tear since the Saints returned from their Week 5 bye with a little more space in their backfield than they had going into said bye week. Kamara has finished three of his last five games with a grade north of 85.0, including his highest-grade-to-date, 88.3, in Week 10 against the Bills; his 88.2 overall grade during this five-week stretch ranks second among running backs. For the season he now ranks fourth among RBs in terms of overall grade and he joins Hunt as being the only two running backs who rank within the top-10 in both run grade and receiving grade. Can he continue this tear and challenge the top-3? Stay tuned.

Honorable Mentions:

Marlon Humphrey, CB, Baltimore Ravens
Ryan Ramczyk, T, New Orleans Saints
Zach Cunningham, LB, Houston Texans
John Johnson III, S, Los Angeles Rams
Marcus Williams, S, New Orleans Saints
Takkarist McKinley, edge, Atlanta Falcons
Adrian Colbert, S, San Francisco 49ers
Jamal Adams, S, New York Jets
Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams
Jourdan Lewis, CB, Dallas Cowboys

4 Rookies in the top 15 for the Saints. What a draft. Kamara making moves.

Damn. Kamara with a big jump (Kareem Hunt is still the favorite for OROY, but Kamara has easily looked better the last few weeks), & Ramczyk almost in the top 10. Notice that Ramczyk is the only O-Lineman in the top 20.

Lattimore & Ramczyk are locks for the all-rookie team. Kamara & Marcus Williams are going to have a very good chance if they keep this play up. There are just so many good rookie RB's & Safeties (2017 had to be one of the best Safety drafts ever...completely loaded).

Lattimore #1, Kamara #4, Ramczyk #12, & Marcus Williams #15. Beast of a draft class. CSP said that they had a 1st round grade on our first 4 draft picks. Looks like they were right.

I don't understand how Lattimore gets a 75 with 1 pass completed against him for 9 yards.

I am in a happy Saints place for the first time in years. What a draft!

75 is still a good score.
Scores are not related to stats. They grade players on every play. You can disagree with their grades but don't look at stats for the argument.

I didnt love the M Williams or the Kamara pick. I was convinced we had to get a starting pass rusher with one of those picks to win this season. I was wrong.

Lattimore and Kamara have been brilliant. Someone drop a truckload of money to Jeff Ireland and keep him at scout. Keep him there.

I loved the Williams pick. He's the center fielder we've been missing. He might not be the playmaker he was in college yet but he's one of the youngest in our draft class.

Williams just turned 21 in September.

Has the same team ever had the OROY and DROY?

To go even further down the rabbit hole, if we on a serious run...could we have DPOY of the year as well with Jordan?

Yep. The INT's will come. He's making less & less mistakes, while also putting himself in better position to make a play on the ball. He also dropped a very easy INT already. I'm sure he's still pissed about that.

I think he's doing a good job as the last line of defense, & not letting guys get by him for a long TD run or catch.

I think we'll see a spike in his numbers by his 3rd year.

I was fixing to say the same thing but my phone froze up.

"Wouldn't it be nice if Lattimore and Kamara won DROY and OROY. I mean, think about it, Hunt is starting to slump and White could see his stats go down as the Bills give up. Stranger things have happened."

Hunt's first 5 games: 97 carries, 609 yards, 6.3YPC; 166 receiving yards
Hunt's last 4 games: 58 carries, 191 yards, 3.3YPC; 165 receiving yards
16 game pace: 1422 yards rushing, 5.2 YPC, 588 receiving

Kamara's first 4 games: 15 carries, 83 yards, 5.5 YPC; 147 receiving yards
Kamara's last 5 games: 49 carries, 334 yards, 6.8YPC; 226 receiving yards
16 game pace: 741 yards rushing, 6.5 YPC, 663 receiving yards
16 game pace using his last 5 games: 885 rushing yards, 6.7 YPC; 949 receiving yards - 1834 combined yards

Could make a case if he keeps it up.

He could have been beaten a few times but Tyrod Taylor wasn't able to find the WR to throw the pass.
