Will be a DE.
Godchaux will be starting nose with Saunders and Boyd likely his backup.
Sheppard will be a rotational piece and I don't know anything about Ridgeway.
I'd imagine Cam Jordan or Chase Young will be the other DE, unless CY moves out on the OLB spot. Granderson will be our Edge. Broughton can more than likely backup both DE spots. Some of these guys will likely get cut, injured, etc. Once you get through cuts and injuries and start the season, our depth isn't as good as it seems to be right now on paper.

for the sake of the discussion, let's just concede you are right... you talk about depth and how it will be not as good later on.... so going by this same line of thinking, how does our CB room look to you? looking at the DT and CB rooms, pre-draft, which one would you say had more overall talent, and which one could have used more help? and if our depth is going to be worse later on, how comfortable are you with our CB room currently? or our WR room for that matter?

yeah, we do... it was well known among NFL circles, so much so that it was being reported on last week... you think they just pulled that out their arse? I know there's a lot of smoke pre-draft, but when the reporting is consistent among a few different outlets, both pre-draft and during the draft, there's a very good chance it's accurate reporting...
personally, I think they likely would have called Campbell in Detroit at 28 and tried to trade up to there, or Philly at 32 to get back in the 1st, being they had Cleveland sitting there at 33 and NYG at 34 needing QB too...
but NYG beat them to the punch

Well, after last season, I feel our D-line stunk against the run and rushing the passer. Moving to a "3-4" base D and adding Godchaux, I feel better about the run D. I think Broughton will also help our run D. Our WR and CB room lacks depth and enough talent, although there is some talent in those spots. We've gone from all 3 lacking depth to now just our WR and CB room.
II'm starting with pre FA not just pre-draft. But yes, we need more at both WR and CB. We did draft a CB at least.
Yes, our depth on paper at D-line looks good, just like the O-line looks good. It usually does this time of year. Then it seems to be one of those groups, mostly O-line, they start dropping like flies around game 3 or 4. We have lots of names on D-line, doesn't mean there's a lot of talent there. Which is why I'm glad we got Broughton. I don't know what they are going to do at WR.

Truth is, draft grades right after the draft are stupid. Nobody knows how these guys are going to perform. Check back in 2-3 years.
True
The key is how many of these guys will be here 3 and 4 years ftom now starting or providing quality depth and good STs.
Despite the narrative from the front office, we are rebuilding. The guys we drafted need to be durable and stable. We need a strong foundation, not guys who will come and go.
This draft is phase I, next year we need a similar type harvest so with this year’s class and the younger guts currently in the roster, we can start competing for division honors.

Time will tell but I like the fact that they didn’t reach for anyone in the draft and several players they got great value on.
I said what I said. And actual NFL front office opinion supports it. not general fan armchair GMs. There a reason you guys are not paid to make NFL decisions.

Yea bro I’m still too stupid to understand why we wasted $150 million on Carr and backloaded his contract so we can’t get rid of him.
I was so fricking stupid I said we should try to get Jayden Daniels. The August before he won the heisman

One of my worst opinions was calling out MT for being a bitch arse cancer 3 years before he went off the deep end and threw a brick at some guys car.

NFL circles is a year round circle jerk of unnamed sources and seldom known from who. If you added all these up since the SB it would result in thousands of leaks from people paid not to leak. It's made up fake drama to justify year round coverage. Let me know when one of these unnamed "sources" is known. Till then all this info you buy hook line and sinker is bullsh!t bro.
Example
The media hype and constant "my sources say" were completely 180* off and wrong from what teams actually thought on Sanders. I can't give you a better or more recent glaring example that it's BS.

Broughton was a Bo Davis pick. I hope he is as good as advertised because there were some good TE still on board

He is definitely on the line as far of his recommendations in the future are concerned lol

Half the board thought that including my nearly 60 year old friend. This isn’t an accomplishment

This was known by 90% of saints fans once the Brees racial controversy interview happened.

At pick 40 I would've taken ezeirukau. Sharon revel is another guy they could've taken in the 3rd round.
These are the two I woulda also went with. If we drafted these two at 40 and 71, with the rest of our picks, I would have given our draft an A+ and it would have been our best draft since 2017.
Blown opportunity by our front office.

Yea you’re proving my point. I don’t claim that any of my takes are special. I’m responding to the same tired arguments “well there’s a reason you’re not a gm. These guys know way more. Therefore your opinion is invalid”
So I pointed to some very common sense takes that prove how stupid our GM is.
But then they’ll turn around and criticize another gm or coach without a second thought. There’s zero objectivity with the face painters

Fair and I agree the Carr signing has been really bad. I can only assume Loomis gave DA what he thought we needed. At the time we had a good defense, good WRs, etc. we just needed a competent QB. Loomis’s job is to get the coach he hired the tools needed to win. Now the guy he hired, DA, made Loomis look like the incompetent one. Horrible hire but here we are.

Pretty sane for a shroom!
Posted on 4/27/25 at 2:04 pm to goatmilker
Give me and Shroom a weekend with Mickey and I guarantee he walks away a changed man. He needs a little ego death to see what we see. That’s why all those hippies up in Seattle wanted Milroe. They have the foresight

If the plan involves shrooms I'm down.

Correct analysis, but you never know how some of these later rounders pan out.
