Andrus Peat and Taylor Stallworth are OUT for the Saints on Sunday. Larry Warford and Jermon Bushrod are QUESTIONABLE.

I'm so perplexed that we have those guys out after a bye week
Posted on 10/19/18 at 3:06 pm to bnb9433
against a D that got 11 sacks last week?

Warford better play. LeRibeus is a serviceable spot starter, but we're in trouble if he isn't the weakness of the OL.
If Warford & Bushrod don't play...who is going to start at RG?
Armstead
LeRibeus
Unger
????
Ramczyk
The only options for starting RG would be Cameron Tom, Will Clapp, & Michael Ola. Jesus Christ.
We might actually be screwed if Warford doesn't play.

From what I've read on twitter Peat has a concussion. I assume this would have taken place at practice on Wednesday when he was limited?

Few things are certain with this team.
Peat being out for meaningful games is definitely one of them.

I know we want this one bad because we're rolling and we want it for Drew, but in the grand scheme, an AFC road loss isnt the end of the world.

Still a project. Jury still out on this pick. Damn that was a horrendous draft. Everyone sucked except Peat, and he’s been unhealthy and only slightly above average when healthy (probably due to health and position change).

more detail:
The New Orleans Saints could be without both of their starting offensive guards in Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The ruled out starting left guard Andrus Peat (concussion) on Friday and listed right guard Larry Warford (back) as questionable, which makes his status for Sunday unclear.
Peat was limited on Wednesday and didn’t practice Thursday or Friday. The Saints listed him with a head injury Wednesday and Thursday, but updated his injury to a concussion on Friday. Peat declined comment when approached about his status on Friday.
Warford practiced fully on Wednesday before sitting out Thursday with the back injury. He was limited on Friday.
Josh LeRibeus started in place of Peat in Weeks 1 and 3, so LeRibeus will presumable fill in at left guard again. It’s unclear what the backup plan is if Warford can’t play. The team signed veteran Michael Ola this week, but centers Cameron Tom and Will Clapp spent time at guard during training camp.

Might need Taysom Hill to deliver the Ravens win that Drew could never acquire previously.

You think Peat is still a project?

He's a damn good OG when fully healthy. He was opening up huge holes in the running game last year. His pass blocking might be slightly above average, but his run blocking is damn good. Imo, he's well above average (when healthy) for an OG.

When is the latest you can call someone from the Practice Squad to play? Holden started once at Guard for the Cardinals last year.

He’s not necessarily a project, but you must admit he hasn’t yet lived up to being pick number 13. He’s giving us 2nd or 3rd round production which would be acceptable if the rest of the draft wasn’t such a flamewaste, but it was. He’s pretty damn good when he’s fully healthy, but you have to take into acknowledge that he’s a bit inconsistent in that regard.
How much is his 5th year option going to be? Do you think there is potential for the Saints not to pick it up? I’m not 100% sure about their cap situation, but I know they will have to pay Thomas, Kamara and Latt handsomely at some point and this offseason you have Ingram and Bridgewater as key free agents. Gonna have to make some tough decisions.
Nvrmind, I see where they already picked it up. Had no idea they could do so this early. Hopefully he gets healthy. This whole concussion situation seems a bit sketchy as Peat refused to speak with the Media today. Makes me think he was doing something he wasn’t supposed to during the bye week and he doesn’t want to own up to it.

The Jags just traded a 2019 5th round pick to Cleveland for RB Carlos Hyde.
