Dude, he will probably put in more time now. He is going to be living almost full time here during the season and will have no wife and kids to distract him.
This is a non issue as far as I am concerned.

You are right, but have you looked at pictures or the website for their new subdivision? It is one of the priciest hoods in the country and is pretty bad arse. Several PGA tour player and other celebs live there. You can call the clubhouse and they will grocery shop for you, arrange baby sitting, take you to and from the airport, etc.

New Orleans is now in the upper tier jobs of the NFL. If for some reason Payton wanted out, so be it.

Don't kid yourself.

It's one of the upper tier jobs due in very large part to Sean Payton.

DUDE- you actually think being away from his wife and kids will give him more time. You think this is a non -issue DUDE.Two days ago I was rewatching the saints SB win , I was thinking that maybe the onside kick was the guttsiest call of all time. Now Peyton suddenly seems Saban-esque. No way in hell this is a good move, he will tire of this quickly. He was popular beyond comprehension ,now its tarnished. This wont end well.So you think he will stay in N.O. all the season? Away from his family. Yea jumping on a plane at 4 in the morning and flying to New Orleans to put in the long days it takes to be successful , wont get old fast.(sarcasim)

Maybe, only the Paytons know. I just get tired of coaches lying about situations , it seems to always turn out bad. Hope not Josh-
As far as being away from his family WONT cause troubles? Are you married?

Sadly this thread has gone to long.
To those throwing bombs at Paytons family...shame on you.
To those in a panic...please calm down. If Payton wanted to coach the 'boys' he would be there right now.
As far as this hurting the team?
He gets to commute to work in a friking private jet.
Poor slob.
I do not see this as the difference in us making the playoffs or not.
Please stop.

Only good thing is the Williams situation , he may be the coach in waiting, and would be a good one. Payton needs to straighten this out now. If thier is a way to straighten it out. It sucks.

you are pathetic

Its going to be an hour plane flight from Nola to Dallas, and plenty of coaches have done it. Payton's decisions about his family are non of your concern and reacting like you are is childish and pathetic.

yes, he will be living in Nola during the season (he kind of did this anyway).

e. You think this is a non -issue DUDE.

i don't think it is any of my business what goes on between Sean Payton and his wife.

I'm sure he can take a private jet from a private air field. I don't think the commute will actually be that much longer

Think it goes from being a 1 hour drive to a 1.5 hour flight, and i'm sure he wont be making more than a few of those flights per season

exactly. This is a non-issue until it actually has evidence of becoming a problem. The overreaction is sad

A) anybody who has the money to live in the Garden District/Uptown New Orleans and send their kids to Newman but chooses Mandeville has incredibly horrible taste to begin with and is incapable of appreciating true history, soul, and beauty. Basically he deserves to live in some bullshite manufactured subdivision in Dallas with other neuveau riche who have equally shitty taste.

B) anybody who thinks a head football coach can successfully commute several times a week on a private jet and then inspire 24-34 year old guys to spill their guts on a day to day basis in practice is insane. it won't work.

the ONLY way this doesn't end in disaster is if the Payton's marriage is basically over, he's moving them there to get them away for their own good, he's saying he'll commute to save face in the media, and he really buys a condo in the Warehouse District and lives there full-time August-January and chases NOLA tail part-time while putting in 70 hours a week at Airline Dr.

tigerbait, you can laugh and mock all you want but this move is significant and even the local press thinks so.

You're comparing a young 40-something coach in the prime of his profession to a dude who had been contemplating retirement for 5 seasons and was easing his way out the door?

It's not even close. Payton is at least 15 years away from being in a remotely similar situation to Cowher's last couple of years in Pitt.

Didn't Dungy leave his family in Tampa and win a S.B. at Indy?
