Did Alvin or Drew read it wrong?

Should Drew have thrown the fly route?

Well Alvin ran beyond 20 yards, which being out of Drew's range, was wrong by default.

We saw Drew uncork 30-40 yards a few times this year... (not bragging).

Just wondering what was the correct read / throw on that play?

If I recall correctly, they were in zone and had a safety over top. If that's the case AK ran the wrong route and should have sat down where Drew threw the pass.

Some dude said in a thread about Jared Cook that WWL said he ran the wrong route on another INT. This is the only one they could've been referring to. On the play Cook turns in and is running around the middle of the field. The ball went to where Cook would've been if he was supposed to just turn around and sit. Alvin wasn't even looking back so he would've been clearing out Cook to have that spot.

Not sure about that, would need to see the replay. But right after the Int, Drew was on the sideline talking with AK.

Maybe, I don't know for sure. I'm just going off what that guy said some other guys said. Either way somebody was supposed to sit down in that spot.

Just saw the replay. Cook was lined up tight to the right, Trautman was in TE spot on right, AK in backfield, Josh Hill in the slot on the left, Calloway wide left.

Cook ran a 15 yard in and was already in the middle of the field when Drew released the ball.
Truatman ran a fade up the sideline
AK ran a streak out the backfield
Hill ran a hook to the sideline on the opposite side
Calloway ran a shallow drag.

The ball was definitely to AK who had an opening if he sat at the 45 (basically a 5 yard curl). When Drew threw the ball AK was at the 40 and White was around the 47 yard line and in the middle of the field.

It was a zone defense, and I was wrong about the safety being in play. Drew threw the pass too early for the safety read to even be relevant. Drew had no pressure when he released the pass, but Gholston lit up Peat and would have destroyed Drew had he waited for AK to continue to climb.

In hindsight, the better option was Calloway dragging across the field. He would have cut the yardage in half on 2nd & 8 and would have to avoid David to try to get the 1st (which means it probably would have been 3rd & 2).

I would say AK was suppose to sit

Looked to me Kamara made the wrong route that actually might've turned into a TD if Brees threw it right. He pretty much split the safeties if Brees drilled that to him he might've coasted into the end zone. Not sure if that was a choice route for Kamara or not. They looked like they were in zone and he was suppose to settle underneath in that zone.

Here's the all 22 angle at the last point before Drew starts his throwing motion:

- The Bucs are in Cover 4 quarters.
- The inside quarter on that side has already bit down on the in route (near the midfield logo).
- The backside safety has his back turned to Kamara and isn't a factor.
- Devin White is facing the LOS and Kamara will soon run past him.
- That leaves the outside quarter at the top of the screen to defend both the wheel route from the TE down the sideline and the seam route by Kamara, essentially overloading his zone.

Based on this look, I think Kamara made the right call to run down the seam. White is already breaking on where Drew is about to throw it, and he likely picks it even if Kamara breaks his route off.

That said, this play was not going to be a TD. The interior rush was breaking through...Drew doesn't have another half second to wait and launch a deep ball. He should've checked down to Callaway and taken the 5 yards.

I saw Kamara pull back on a sure catch. Let the ball go by he could easily have caught. Bottom line folks these games are all controlled by the bookies. They know who is gonna win before the games are played and know how many points will be scored most times. Wake up. This shite show is rigged.

From that angle it looks like kamara should've sat it down.

It was odd for sure. Kamara and brees are probably 2 of thr smartest players on the team.

My guess is brees thought he would turn around.

White wouldn't have picked it.
Show where the ball hits.

That picture speaks volumes about how easy we were to defend. Not a single defender beyond 18 yards of the line of scrimmage. No big plays to worry about.

To be wrong this many times in a single paragraph is quite the feat.

Either AK needs to squat or the ball needs to go to Calloway for a decent gain.

Kamara was a terrible target regardless if he sat the route or not. If he sits, best case scenario he's blown up by Devin White. If he continues up the seam, 0% chance Brees can make that throw. The right place for the ball is Callaway.

However, it's a really easy game when you have hindsight and still photos.
