No. Crawley has shown he can be solid depth. Keep him and sign Bene.

Benwikere against Julio: 8 catches for 228 yards

Crawley against Julio: 1 catch for 16 yards

Willie Snead couldn't make the panthers roster that worked out well for us

They ran the ball 97 times against us they didn't need to throw the ball

I could be in the minority but I feel Crawley has made great strides. Hell, other than the two big passing plays against Crabtree and Cruz I think he's done pretty well. For an UDFA to hold Julio to one catch even if on a bum ankle is impressive to me.

You're not, it's just the dummies who don't know squat about football are very vocal.

Call me crazy, but I think our secondary coach is pretty awesome.

We keep replacing starters without an extreme loss of production.
Not to mention, we've turned late round and UDFA DB's into quality starters.

He's way, way better than Vitt and Johnson.

You're not the minority, these people are just idiots.

Honestly, the two plays you're talking about weren't even that bad. Crawley was in position on both - stride for stride. The coverage on the Crabtree 2 pointer was fricking perfect, the catch was just amazing. Crabtree is wrecking every DB in the redzone this year. The Cruz catch was a stupid mistake by Crawley but again he was in perfect position... If he just flails his arms a bit instead of trying to pick it, it's an incompletion. He was stride for stride with the guy. That was NOT true of all of our typical terrible corners from the past decade, those guys were just getting torched

Using the Julio numbers comparison isn't a very accurate way to decide imo because we had vastly different gameplans for y'all and Carolina and attacked both of them very different. However I watched both games and my eyes tell me Crawley is better, he definitely stuck closer to Julio than anyone Carolina put on him.
