Galette thread reminded me

early nominees-

Tom Johnson DT, from the CFL

Greg Romeus DE, for the potential to draft pick spot ratio

Jermiha Hunter LB, had a pick & good reviews the first day of camp

Isa Abdul-Quddus DB, just for his name

Michael Galatas WR, local boy with 4.25 40yd

DeAndre McDaniel DB, perhaps the best UDFA that was available

Kyle Nelson LS, we need a long snapper so he might have the best shot of making the regular roster of any UDFA

Nate Bussey LB, all around super hustler looks to sparkle on STs

Junior Galette DE, his 4 games & 3 tackles last year allows him to be eligible to be the first repeat OOA winner

Jonathon Amaya DB, anyone who was the guy in a Reggie trade is gonna get a little extra attention

Kolby Hurt FB-LB, any pounding FB with the name Hurt is in the running. "gonna put the Hurt on ya"

You really think a LS will create enough camp buzz for this award?

I like Junior. He seems to be the perfect fit for this type of defense.

Damn I didn't realize how small he was (5'8", 175 lbs). Maybe he can make a splash this year.

First year I played fantasy football was 2001...he looked so good in the preseason, I took him with my first round pick. I was naive and a homer...and no idea what I was doing.

I'll go with Galatas. I'm hoping Junior's play in the preseason actually translates into the regular.

adding Tyler Lorenzen to the list

TE Tyler Lorenzen has taken advantage of his increased rep so far this camp as he's been the No. 2 TE behind Jimmy Graham. And Lorenzen may have the ultimate cheerleader. "He is a guy that I am most rooting for this preseason," Drew Brees said about Lorenzen.

On Sunday, linebacker Jeremiha Hunter (right Achilles) and receiver Michael Galatas (hamstring) came off the field during practice.

Yea, lately this guy seems like the front runner to be the 2011 O.O. Award winner.
