Olave KO TD Catch vs Seahawks

Remember this play was called incomplete on the field and reversed to a TD

Olave Catch Vs 49ers that was Overturned

This was called a catch on the field and then overturned. You can see not only does Olave catch it, he clearly tucks it against his body (constituting a football move).

Both of these calls WERE REVERSED from what was actually called on the field. Dennis Allen is RIGHT! Nobody knows what a catch is bc they are totally inconsistent on how they evaluate.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Good for him.

On a serious note, the NFL needs to do away with replay altogether. There's no real added benefit at this point.

I'd also like to see them incorporate a sky ref that can call a flag for an obvious penalty or negate a bad call. This person would obviously not be biased in any capacity

The overturn made no sense

Blandino or whoever it was justification made even less sense. Apparently you need to take a third step now.

Olave clearly caught it with both hands and then tucked it away to one hand all well before hitting the ground.

you can easily argue his third step was down before ball came loose.

If both plays stood as called bc there wasn’t enough evidence to overturn then fine but that wasn’t the case.

They actually OVERTURNED both calls and nobody can really say what is different. Theoretically someone from NFL office looked at both real time.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but if you watch the first play vs the Seahawks he catches the ball and comes down with two feet, gets contacted and thrown to the ground where he actually has 2 more steps before hitting the ground and the ball comes out.

1) Olave actually takes 4 steps.
2) He is thrown to the ground as opposed to going to the ground making the catch.

The main reason I think the 49ers overturn is BS is because he clearly caught the ball and was thrown to the ground. He wasnt going to the ground in the process of making the catch.

The NFL "Points of Emphasis" for any game impacting review are "Screw the Saints and make it up as you go."
