I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND, THE SAINTS CONTROL WHAT RADIO STAION BROADCAST THEIR GAMES!!!!!! WWL WILL NOT BE BROADCASTING THE SAINTS SAINTS GAMES IN THE NEAR FUTURE. NO ONE WILL MISS ONE SAINTS GAME IF JIM HENDERSON IS NOT BROADCASTING IT. GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!THE SAINTS COULD CARE LESS ABOUT JIM HENDERSON. Crap. I used to listen to sports talk on WWL with Bobby Hebert on the way home after work. Herbert was a big saints fan. I think this is a dumb move by the saints.

1200 loyal fans who need to understand that this is necessary to host a superbowl... calm down moron, learn some shite... and wwl radio will be broadcasting saints games for a long long long time to come.... they're one of the most powerful radio stations in the country, why would the saints go away from that..

YOU DO REALIZE THAT JIM HENDERSON'S WWL CONTRACT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS WWLTV CONTRACT AND IF THE SAINTS TOOK OVER THE BROADCASTING OF THE SAINTS GAMES WITH ANOTHER RADIO STATION, THAT IT DOES NOT EXCLUDE HIRING JIM HENDERSON TO CONTINUE BEING THE SAINTS BROADCASTER. DO YOU? dO YOU??

WWL has not been the exclusive radio home for the Saints since their inception. Hell, back in the early nineties they were on WQUE FM in New Orleans. And Jim Henderson did the play-by-play. So there is not a guarantee of loyalty to a broadcast group. Or announcer.

Agree. But, as has been said, WWL TV 4 and The Big 870 are different entities. Henderson isn't going anywhere and the games will still be carried by WWL Radio. As for Channel 4, what would change here? What station carries the games is dictated by the Network, not the affiliate. Jim Henderson and channel 4 can still report on the Saints, just like every other station does.
As for the missing 1200, the Saints need to find a way to accomodate them. It's widely known that the Saint's fanbase is special. The unique synergy between the fans and the team has contibuted as much, if not more, to the national appeal than the SB win. Remember, the Saints were being called the new "America's Team" well before the playoffs.

Anyway, you keep listening to your little A.M. radio, and see if you can pick up the saints on it this year. I however, will be at the Saints game, just like I was last year and the year before. Well you get the picture. HAHA!!!!!!!

Jim Henderson has a contract with both BELO corp who owns WWLTV and WWL radio is owned by Entercom.
Also WWL is one of the worlds strongest radio stations at 50kw its the strongest signal allowed in the US(they are the only 870 in the US), no other station in the region has close to it's broadcast output, it would be silly to jump to a smaller FM station like 1280 or even dumber to go FM.
WWL radio is not going to lose the Saints only WWL tv.

How can WWL TV lose the Saints? Only games on WWL TV are CBS newtork feeds adnd Papa Benson can't alter that issue........Most of Saints' games are on Fox 8 already cause of NFC affilaition with Fox.

the only other stations in new orleans that have a chance chad are Q93 and magic 101.9, they're the only ones close to wwl in revenue to get it. well considering clear channel owns just about everything anything is possible but they're not gonna venture from wwl radio
