It sounds like the type of guy that will at least be a solid special teams contributor. If that’s his floor, I’m satisfied.

Scouting reports say his weakness is twitch and speed. But then he runs fast and shows great explosion at the combine
As stated, his perceived physical weaknesses disappeared at the combine, so maybe he's just in need of being coached up.

New Saints S Jordan Howden is 5-11, 203. Started 49 games over five years at Minnesota. Adds young depth to a position where both of Saints starters Mathieu and Maye will be 30 this year. Also could help immediately on special teams.

and with Chicago's pick of Terell Smith, CB, MINN... our trade with the Bears which allowed us to open up Round 4 is now complete

Just curious. How many of our defensive starters are actually 30 or older?

Howden had the second highest forced incompletion rate among 2023 draft eligible safeties (per @PFF_College with 400 snaps).

5 starters/high rotation guys >=30:
Cam Jordan - 34 to start the year
Nathan Shepherd - 30 mid-season
Demario Davis - 34 to start the year
Marcus Maye - 30 to start the year
Tyrann Mathieu - 31 to start the year

Safety was a huge need. Unlikely to find a day 1 starter in the 5th but talented depth is a plus.
Agreed. Glad they got one. Other than, and maybe even including, DL I thought safety was our overall weakest position group coming in. I don’t think much of maye or mathieu going forward.

Its shocking how well Demario has played at his age. Dude ages like fine wine.

Can anyone tell me if Boutte still available?
Posted on 4/29/23 at 2:58 pm to saintthetiger93
He will go to Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent

Can someone tell me this board’s obsession with Boutte? People on here acting like hes an underated Justin Jefferson or something.
