I mean, I can’t really get behind a hot take saying a guy isn’t a good pass rusher when he’s had double digit sacks two years in a row

Two great picks by the Saints so far. And they haven’t traded any future draft picks. Everyone should be very happy at this point.

@CSimmsQB
Isaiah Foskey is a @Saints kind of guy. They like big people!! Foskey is awesome in the run game. He has a really high floor and some traits to be a really good pass rusher.

I been learned not to jump to conclusions on these draft picks. Truth is, no one knows what any of these guys are going to be in a couple of years.

Isaiah Foskey is my EDGE5. Smart pass rusher. Elite production. Uses his opponents weaknesses against them. Variety of great pass rush moves. Reads the backfield and can switch to run defense quickly. Stays disciplined and contains the pocket. Underrated athlete. Can struggle to disengage at times. Disappears for long stretches against better OTs. First step is only average. His bend can be stiff. Production just doesn’t lie. #Saints  #HallamAnalysis

How Isaiah Foskey fits with the Saints
New Orleans is rebuilding its defensive front this weekend, adding Isaiah Foskey to first-round pick Brian Bresee. Like Derick Hall at No. 37, Foskey brings a do-it-all skill set to the NFL – able to play as a stand-up edge or with his hand in the dirt. He’s not the giant-sized edge that Dennis Allen would usually place on the edge, but he brings active hands and a high-enough motor to add value on first and second down. His ceiling as a lead rusher isn’t as high as guys picked ahead of him, but he’s sure to be a positive contributor and reliable piece of the rotation.

Can’t be upset with the picks so far.

I wouldn’t mind trading back up for Branch or an OG.

Agreed. I can still see them adding Clark or Floyd in FA so they don’t have to rely on Foskey and Turner on the other side.

But I’d love to get back in for Branch or Torrence

The annual bitching is useless. We have no idea for a couple of years if they will be anything. There are melts every year whether the picks turn out great or not. That’s why guys like Yaz don’t make sense.

He's a whopping 4 pounds lighter than Payton Turner was his draft year.

Especially for Dlinemen not named Nick Bosa. Is Foskey going to be Justin Tuck? Probably not. But he's got the tools and production and if he works hard (which Davenport and Turner have proven they do not) then he will be an average starter at worst. Not every pick is going to be a Pro Bowler.
