The D line looked fine. The secondary looked fine. It's the linebackers.
They ran check down plays the entire time. And, Ryan is not blitzing. It's vanilla offense versus vanilla defense right now. People need to relax.

I'm not saying the defense will be a disaster I'm saying the best option for Will Smith would be to eat a few turkeys and play NT. Unless the Saints are playing a bunch of teams with old ladies using walkers at QB.

On the plus side. They got decent pressure and didn't give up the big pass. Short dumps over the middle at up most of it.

Look, I'm not saying this will be top 5 defense, or even top 10. But like I said earlier, this unit came out like world beaters the last two preseasons and it proved NOTHING. This is a completely new defense they are learning, so let's not lose our minds.
Although, there are some regulars that I think won't help the transition that probably need to see diminished playing time.
