They finished 2nd in their division, so did the Saints. You play divisional games, a rotation of an AFC conference each year, rotation of NFC conference and then the teams that finished with the same placement from the other NFC divisions (49ers, Cowboys). This year we played the entire NFC north though.

Brees's stats have been helped out by two long screens to PT, but his numbers are still pretty fricking insane.
