With FA's starting to land the everything settling down in terms of the season looming, what are your predicts (particularly) where you think the Saints will land this year?

Saints: 12-4
--Brees does his thing and the RB combo of PT/MI/DS will help alleve not only the running problems but will help open more passing lanes for Drew. Expect a great year.

Bucs: 11-5
--Many people think the South is a 2 team race with the Saints and Falcons but I'm putting the Bucs as the breakout team of the NFC. Solid numbers last year and Freeman is gonna be a good OB.

Falcons: 10-6
--I doubt they recreate their great season of last year. The South will be a tougher conference than last year (and it was tough last year). Ryan will be solid but their D will be suspect.

Panthers: 6-10
--Newton ends up starting over Clausen and will lead the Panthers to a few wins. Still, nothing of competition.

Perfect! Couldnt have put it better. I would just add that all three go to the playoffs for the first time. Bucs and Falcons take up both wild card spots.

I see the Bucs as very similar to where we were after '06.

Good team, but they're not quite there yet. They could take a step or two back just because the schedule is so tough.

I agree with this. I see the Bucs being a very solid 8-8 team.

My picks

New Orleans 11-5
Atlanta 10-6
Tampa 8-8
Carolina 5-11

I have us at 13-14 wins mate. I think our D is that good after the Franklin signing.

OK, I see many saying the Saints will have 3, 4, or 5 losses. Who to?

have you seen our schedule? it's pretty brutal

Atlanta Twice, Bucs twice, Colts, Green Bay, Chicago, St. Louis, Texans...Plus this is the NFL not college football. The worst NFL team can beat the best NFL team on any given Sunday. I think 12-4 sounds about right.

First, Tampa will regress just on a tougher schedule alone. They had an easier schedule last year. Panthers are in quick sand with a rookie headcoach and rookie QB. New Orleans and Atlanta will once again fight it out for the division.

Saints 11-5
Falcons 10-6
Bucs 7-9
Panthers 3-13

Sweeping the South will be a pretty hard thing to pull off, given how strong it looks. 5-1 wouldn't be much easier. I'd say 4-2 is a reasonable expecation there.

Then you have the opener against the defending champs, on the road, in the mother of NFL stadiums. Won't be easy.

On top of that, you have games against NFC runner-up Chicago. Both of the Manning brothers and their playoff caliber teams are coming to the Dome.

Houston and Minnesota probably won't be pushovers either.

I think the Saints can win every game on the schedule, but there's no way to predict injuries, lucky breaks, etc.

14-2 and 13-3 are optimistic but not impossible, IMO. 12-4 or 11-5 is more realistic.

Come on guys, are we all homers? I love my Saints just as much as the next Saints fan but no one who has posted yet has us even finishing second in the division?
My prediction:
1. Atlanta (12-4)
-I don't see how they could be any worse than last year. They pretty much have everyone back and with the addition of Julio Jones, that offense could be better than it was last year.
2. New Orleans (11-5)
-We have a very difficult schedule this year which has already been mentioned. I think our offense will be better with the additions of Ingram and Sproles as well as the emergence of Jimmy Graham. Add that to the fact that we no longer have to feel obligated to get the ball in Reggie's hands anymore which should make the offense more effective. I think we need Cam Jordan to step up and play well this year and the defense should be in pretty good shape especially if Johnny Patrick can step in and be effective in his rookie season. I say 11-5 because we have such a difficult schedule but I could also see 13-3 with us winning the division like some of you have said. Like I said, I love my saints, but I'm just trying to be a realist.
3. Tampa Bay (8-8)
The bucs have a lot of young talent but I think they still need at least one more year to put it all together and make a serious run. Freeman is going to be a good one and Blount is my sleeper to make the pro bowl at RB in the NFC this year. Young man was straight up impressive at the end of last season.
4. Carolina (5-11)
I think Cam is going to be a good one but not this year. It will probably take him 9 to 10 games to break into the starting lineup and more than likely, he'll just look like a rookie quarterback. They are installing a new coach in Ron Rivera who I really like. He needs some time to implement his system but in 3-4 years, I see the Panthers being contenders again.

Nothing homer about thinking the Saints are the best team in the division. I do think the Falcons have a worse season than last year.

so you are expecting our division to go 29-11 vs the rest of the league...

The panthers are horrible, the bucaneers are average and saints/falcons are playoff teams. Don't go off the deep end.
