I get that schedule and conference can dictate wins and losses, but when looking at our schedule and the result this year against playoff teams, Im just stating my opinion that next year is a reach to be a true playoff team(in the sense of being able to win multiple playoff games not just get in) unless we fill 5-6 starter spots will upgraded talent.

This team doesn't have any pro bowlers.

so i get downvoted big b/c we lost to every playoff team this year and only beat teams that are not very good.

You got downvoted because losing to playoff teams still left us only 2 or 3 games away from a playoff berth.

How many games did the Commanders lose to playoff teams in 2023? With good QB play, they added 8 wins the next year. But the Saints can't add 3?

You retarded dumbfrick, Tyler played 1 playoff team and put up a total of 10 points. Thank you for making my point. You are one stupid poster.

You are stupid and prideful. It’s ok to say we were all mostly wrong about Shough. The guy is playing with a shitty roster, crappy offensive line, and back up to the back up running backs and is winning.

You posted nothing about Shough during the draft or the first few weeks of the season and you're quoting me like it's some gotcha moment. You went full retard.

Had you posted this I would be sympathetic and the post would make some sense, but you are still trashing Shough and he has a good chance to win rookie of the year.

This is a rebuild. This roster is bad. We have some reasons to believe we are ahead of schedule, but next year isn’t our year yet. The team is playing hard for Moore despite a lack of talent. We likely have found our QB and he is on a rookie contract. Can we draft next year like this year? Can we make some good acquisitions in the offseason? I think there is reason for optimism. By the way the NFL has a 17 game season now so you are 1 game short. I’d be fine with a 9-8 or 10-7 record next year.

The saints don’t have 5 years of a rookie contract with Shough.

In the nfl the moment you have a good QB you should be trying for a SB. The Saints are on the clock now to win with Shough. The division is weak. Next year should see a home playoff game.

I'm not trashing him. He's outperforming expections by a mile. I was responding to an imbecile that only talks shite.

I believe we beat Atlanta next week. They just trounced the Rams while we had a come from behind win.

I figured we'd go over the over /under of 5.5 to 6. 5before the season started because the talking heads were so down on us as the worst team in the NFL. It wasn't looking good with Rattler starting.

Next year they'll set it at around 7 to 8. We have a long ways to go become a contender and I don't think we sweep the division again next year. Playoffs aren't out of the realm but this team has many holes, QB is not one. We aren't ready to compete with the top teams. Just because Carolina and Atlanta beat the Rams doesn't make them a top team. This is the NFL parity thing at work.

I don't watch nearly as much football as I used to. I mostly watch highlights of the Saints on YouTube.

Point taken, but even being the metaphorical "tallest midget" (i.e., one of the "best" of the bad teams in the league) means something going forward.

Saints have established a floor and, with another good draft (and, knowing Mickey, some FA shenanigans), this team can certainly compete in this shite division next year. The other starting QBs appear to be treading water at best (Bake may have crested), while Tyler is clearly ascendant.
