Wow, does anyone know if anything like this has happened in the NFL before? Would this be a hint that there are legit people out there that think this game might have been tainted?

That's my thought, unless they would've lost money.

My thoughts exactly. It goes to a push bet. They were gonna have to hand them the money back anyway

I’m really starting to suspect officials were paid to fix the game. If this comes out it would really hurt the league’s credibility. Wasn’t there a point shaving official in the NBA once? What happens if this is true to those officials?

2007 with Tim Donaghy at the center. He got a little over a year in prison.

Yep. The book is called PERSONAL FOUL. I remember reading one thing in that book that really stood out and it's where the 3 refs got together before the game and all bet each other that whomever blew their whistle for the first foul would owe the other 2 officials $100 each. They let a bunch of fouls go without a whistle and finally a guy got clotheslined and one of them blew his whistle because he had to. Sad.

Good publicity stunt.

Realistically, if the call had been correct the Saints would have won but the Rams would have covered.

This isn't some random NBA game on a tuesday night. Was the NFC championship. I am not saying it did but if it came out that this game was tainted it would do serious long term damage to the league.

Neither was the NBA scandal, it involved the playoffs and more than one series was involved.

Not if there was a touchdown scored genius.

Maybe - but wouldn't it be better to kneel, force them to burn their timeouts, and kick the FG?

That's integrity. A bookie with more than the NFL.

The Saints were laying 3 mostly. It would have been a push.
