Another dumb decision by the kids on airline that want to keep things going the way sean did.

If you aren't going to use him right it looks terrible. The only plays we run for taysom are on bad downs like 2nd and long, or right after the qb finds rhythm.

Taysom is effective and valuable.

Our coaching staff are pussies, short sighted, and caved into the amateur thought that Taysom wasn’t worthy of qb play and wouldn’t adapt to an offense that can control the ball, pass effectively with a defense that can dominate.

You may recall a bit back my trade Taysom thread. Thought I was kidding. Taysom is a better man that anybody, he should have told this staff to get fricked.

Taysom is the only exciting thing about our offense. I just wish they would use him correctly.

Every single 3rd and 1 should be a power run by Taysom

The issue is that we are in the "extend and restructure" portion of his contract, and have been for years. We can't cut him and save a lot of money, b/c we've restructured so much and rolled so much bonus to now. So we have to keep restructuring his base salary and making it more difficult to deal with in the future.

His contract has been a huge liability since he signed it.

Taysom was shitty as a QB and got opportunity after opportunity to prove otherwise.

False and they never altered their offense. They did almost less Taysom things when he started at qb often times.

Facts are that his style of play would have never let him play 17 games in a season. I think he's a decent passer but far more effective runner. He invites contact and drops his shoulder like a rb. That shite isn't going to keep him healthy, especially if he's the focal point of the offense.

The problem is he's always got some nagging injury. Right now I think his oblique is still fricked up but he's dealing with it.

This isn't 1995, Chad.

You can't win a title in the NFL with a shitty offense and relying on your defense.

Because he's a QB and was asked to play QB, not gadget TE/Wildcat RB.

nobody said anything about a shitty offense. the routes the saints went have turned into disasters while they beg taysom to come in on packages to save the offense's arse.

They need to bench Carr because he sucks. His arm is weak and he can’t make the throws. Play Winston and bring in Taysom when they need to shake things up.

Why do that when we can run 4 verticals?

He signed his huge contract when Payton was still here. And as SFP pointed out, they have to keep kicking the can down the road on his contract because of all of the other contracts on the books and this FO can't make the tough decisions.

FYI, had they cut/traded Hill before the season, his can hit would have jumped from $7M to ~$23M. And as he has a $16M cap hit for next year, he'll get the inevitable restructure since cutting his jumps his cap hit up to $17M.

FIFY

In the end, he's been here with several different QBs since Brees and the offense has looked abysmal with every one of them.

Although I enjoy having Taysom as a Saint and he plays harder than almost anyone on the team. His production on the field is not worth 4 year $40 million. Just another example of how garbage Loomis is
