at 4.0 YPC, big deal. Most decent RB's get that by 10 games with the right amount of carries.

deuce did the same thing in 03

Deuce took performance enhancing drugs. Ricky took performance un-enhancing drugs and still kicked arse.

Not many RBs named Barry or Ladanian can do much about guys being in the backfield immediately after the handoff

Funny they seem to be in the back field much more often when Reggie's running the ball. This could be because he stutter steps too much in the back field instead of hitting the hole.

Not his fault. It was the media hype. He just cashed in....and last time I checked, was a pretty damn good football player

The question isn't who's a good player or not. It's a question of who is overrated. Reggie has not lived up to the hype....not even close. He's a good player, but not nearly what he's hyped up to be.

If you won't call Deuce over rated due to injury, then you have to give Reggie the same benefit.

I never said Reggie is overrated due to his injuries. He's overrated due to his lack of production in relation to the media hype he receives.

quote:

Bush, over less than three full seasons, has half the total number of TDs that Deuce has for his career

And he also has just as many fumbles. Deuce has 20 fumbles in his entire career. Reggie already has 13.

Most overrated? Got to be Reggie Bush! He is easily about to find himself to be a situational player.

Go Falcons!

You ignored the first part of my rebuttal. The media hyped him up. Reggie wasn't calling himself those things. He is a good football player. He was doing great in the first half of the season last year. Just because he doesn't live up to the hype that the media laid on him, doesn't make him overrated. Now if you want to say he isn't living up to a #2 pick, then make that your point. The other stuff is hogwash. Yes, I said hogwash.

spoken like someone who wasn't around to see just how truely bad the saints were most of Archie's years. Case in point, Archie's 2 best years were 1978 & 1979. He was NFC player of the year in 1978 on a team that was 7-9. In 79 they were 8-8 and he was in the pro bowl both years.

So the Saints were mediocre for two of Manning's years and that is worthy of the devotion (not to mention being the 2nd overall pick of the 1971 draft)? Uh, no. I would have liked to see a bit more from a 2nd overall pick.

If he had the stats of, say, Jim Hart of the Cardinals (a truly underrated qb of that era), or even Steve DeBerg, then he wouldn't have been so overrated. Both were capable qb's , played for many crappy teams in their own right, and were not nearly as hyped coming out of school as Manning was out of Ole Miss.

That's the definition of being "overrated"

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that. But I don't think Bush has been overrated for at least a season now.

In order to skewer the numbers you guys just eliminated Ricky's 2 best seasons in the NFL when he was tearing shite up and rushing for over 3,100 yards in 2 seasons

But those seasons didn't come with the Saints, so you can't say he's a better SAINT than Deuce cause he racked up 1800 yards 1 year when he was a Dolphin, lol.

Deuce overrated? Has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

You gonna fault the man for playing his heart out for the city he loved to play for and tore his body up doing it? Real classy moron. Some fan.

If anyone is overrated its the idiots that get the big contracts and do nothing for the city or the team... and no one comes in mind, but there have been some under achievers.

Deuce=most overrated Saint in recent memory...the fact that the majority of the dome would beg for his crippled arse to get the ball last year shows how retarded so much of our fan base is.

I agree Archie is over rated by many Saints fans, but this statement is just stupid.
