To CocoLoco who asked:
Two things:
(1) That was the most stressful football game I've ever been to. Not even a close second. I think the team felt it too. There was a ton of pressure on them.
(2) They were different kinds of loud, if that makes sense. The Porter INT was a sense of relief after the heavy dread of what seemed about to happen, and everyone was in total shock. It was very loud, but...The Kick was different. As it went up and people could tell it was going in, it escalated, got loud and stayed loud for a while. A long while. It was a joyful loud. People were also crying everywhere, myself included. I honestly don't remember which was louder - they both were - just that they were different, and both awesome. The Porter one was probably louder because more people were yelling and less were crying. So glad I was there. There will never be another moment like it.

For fans that were at the NFC Championship, which was louder the Porter int or the Hartley Field goal?
The interception came with the saints on the ropes and the Vikings in field goal range to win it. The field goal sent the team to the Bowl. Which one was louder?

Understatement of the year. I wasn't there, but it was horrible until they won. SB was even worse.

Most memorable play in Saints' history
the home videos of home watch parties when that int happened still make me jump up and down !
+1 Esp.
- The one in the Lafayette family's living room,
- The one in that cramped bar with the small TV behind the bar,
- The one with the majority young Asian dudes going nuts in their living room.
- The one in the Hilton.
We were at Cafe Giovanni becasue my sister knew Chef Duke - had a front row seat in the main dining room.
When Porter intercepted the pass, everyone was literally IN THE AIR, and everyone's vocal chords were pulsating

Hartley's kick against the Vikings to put us in the Super Bowl is #1 for me.
That's my #1 because I was at the game watching from the terrace with my brother in law who is a Vikings fan.

You nailed it IMO. I'd also add that the Gleason block was the single biggest "pop" ive heard in the dome. That was an incredible burst of noise, like everyones frustrations from Katrina just pouring out. Truly awesome.

I was about to say this too. You have like an 11 man lateral going. Score the TD by a miracle then miss the fricking XP to once again miss the playoffs. I remember watching that play running out of my house and to my friends house across the street and by that time I made it right in time for the miss. I have never been so happy so fast then back to immediate disgust and pissed off

I was at that game. Best feeling I've had since the Saints won the ship in '09, so it gets my vote.
Though I honestly think that the onside kick in the SB was too special to be surpassed. It was just so gutsy, well executed, and rewarding.

All I heard my whole life was how we'd never been to a Superbowl, and would never get there, so Hartley's kick vs. the Vikings is the most special for me. I almost felt like winning the SB was icing on the cake.

Same.
I was much more emotional after that kick than I was after SB44.
It was also the most stressed out I've ever been watching a sporting event.
As a bonus the viking tears and videos tasted much better than the dolts did.

I'm not so sure about the river city relay.
believe it or not, I was at that game and felt a lot like I had after I watched the 1999 Saints-Browns game afterwards.
its not like the missed extra point cost us anything significant. It was just another kick in the balls and a reminder of how frustrating it could be to a Saints fan at that time.
after the TD, we were all high fiving and shite but then became uneasy because it took several minutes for the booth review. Deep down I felt like in some way we weren't going to like the ultimate outcome. The TD stood so I was feeling good about that but was skeptic about overtime. I was talking to my buddy right next to me about overtime when Carney missed. I didn't even see the kick. Lol.
besides... all that extra point would have done was tie the game up and send it into overtime and give the Saints a chance to finish 9-7 instead of 8-8.
even had the Saints gone to the playoffs that year... not much would have happened.
that is what I kept thinking to myself on the long ride home.

I've re-watched the SB 6 or 7 times and even the Cards game once or twice. I'll never watch the Vikings game again. Just felt sick in the stomach the entire game, whereas I didn't even panic after Q1 of the SB.
#1 for me is the Porter pick simply because it sealed the deal. The ambush was probably more important to our winning the game (the NFCCG Porter pick + Hartley FG definitely were).
