I’m telling you that all this means is there is no video evidence to pursue the charges so the DA decided to drop them

He entered pretrial diversion. It's an agreement between the defendant and the prosecutor. He might have to pay a fine, take an anger management course, do community service, or whatever. If he does whatever he agreed to do, the prosecutor dismisses the case.
It's like a mild probation, but the court isn't ordering you to do it. It's basically a settlement with the prosecutor. If pretrial diversion is completed and the case is dismissed, it's just a dismissal as far as the court is concerned.

These things got worked out by lawyers in advance. Both sides took the path of least resistance. The announcement is nothing more than PR for both sides.

So does the Kenner DA as well. The fact that through that whole mess the DA doesn’t press any charges is kind of ridiculous and more of an indictment of bad police work by the Kenner PD. Im not even a Mike Thomas fan but this is a bad look for the Kenner PD.

Not really, but probably more guilty than not guilty.
