The "players don't succeed outside of NE" narrative is almost as annoying as the "32nd overall is basically a 2nd round pick" narrative. No it's not and stop saying that

Randall Gay was pretty solid for the Saints after leaving NE

It is tough to imaging Lombardi was ever in a front office as ridiculous as some of his comments are. He is simply a tool for BB and it is as transparent as it comes.

frick that. I don't even want to give them #32. This is the deepest CB draft in YEARS. We can pick a starting caliber CB at #32 and sign him for $2 million a year, rather than having to pay Butler $13-14 million a year. Think what that will do to our salary cap.

Eff the Patriots and their demands. Saints front office, keep your picks and take advantage of this deep CB class.

Hooman also looked good after we traded for him, and I think we missed his presence at times this year.

Where is this $13-14 mil number coming from. Last year he was only asking for 10, and while being very good he wasn't elite so I don't see more than $12 mil per being the price, but likely finishing between $10.5-11.5 mil per.

Asking for 11??

That's about where I cut off communication. Take Lattimore at 11 and best rusher at 32 or move up a few spots with one of the 3rds and take him there.

They didn't ask for 11. It's a misquote and Lombardi intentionally did it to get hits.

I think you are confusing what was reported. They said he asked the Patriots for top 10 CB money. And that was during last season so he may be looking for more now that he has another year of success on his belt

Jeff Howe is a solid follow if you want to keep up with the NE side of this trade, and clears up what Lombardi actually said past the Buzzfeed headline grab.

If they want 11 then don't make the deal now see how the draft falls if nothing there you want at 11 then the deal will still be there that trade isn't going anywhere

doesn't matter #11>>Butler, if you don't see anyone you're crazy about when you're own the lock then trade down and gather multiple picks.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't have anyone at 11 they weren't intrigued with
