Chase Young is in the top 10 for Pressure percentage at 17%.

But yeah, he sucks.

Our fan base ladies and gents.

Have you watched him? He can’t get to the QB. QBs have all day in the pocket. Young bulls his way back, but gets ultimately he stays blocked. That’s why he gets “pressures” and not sacks.

Breese gets more pressure up the middle which typically pushes the QB to slide to one side or the other. That’s mostly how Young gets all these “pressures”.

We need a pass rusher that can get to the QB and get sacks and speed up the QBs timing. Opposing QBs have all day against the Saints.

Unfortunately Taysom has indicated he isn't retiring.

He started the NFL way later than most people do because of the mormon thing

Eh, he's tied for 2nd on team in sacks on a team that's 12th in sacks. He isn't great, but he's solid. If the deal is team friendly, it would be a good move imo

Take out the Washington game where everyone got a sack and he has 3.5 sacks on the year.

Give me Abdul Carter, James Pearce Jr., Mykel Williams or Nic Scourton. A rookie contract with upside.

Young would have to sign a vet minimum type deal for me to be on board with bringing his 5 1/5 sacks a year back.

He doesn't suck, but he isnt worth what he thinks. At least he's available.

If we owed say 60 mil to Carr could we trade him to a qb needing team we eat say 40 and the other team eats 20? New contract or not. Or something similar?

That is a possibility, yes. It has happened before with QB Brock Osweiler.
He signed a 4yr/$72M deal in 2016 with Houston, then in 2017 Houston traded him to Cleveland and swapped some draft picks.

Browns got: Osweiler / 2017 6th rd / 2018 2nd rd
Texans got: 2017 4th rd

The trade saved the Texans $16M in cash and $10M in cap space

So you get to cherry pick to support your argument?

post June cut Cam Jordan and come to injury/retirement settlements with Ram

The difficult part about these is you need to get under the cap before mid-March. If you make the moves now, the transaction hits the cap as if you cut them now. So, Cam's cap hit would jump to $24M and Ram's would still be $23M; a net savings of about $2M. Then on June 1st, your books are adjusted to reflect the additional $27M.

You need Ram to do a Lattimore type restructure where he reduces his salary to a vet minimum deal with the difference being a "roster bonus" set in the future. This should take about $16M off the books now and when he retires after 6/01 you cut another $2M now.

You also need to work an extension with Carr (99% of the board will hate this comment, including me) to add another 2-3 years with some set in guarantees to entice him to accept. Adjust his base salary for 2025 & 2026 to and add the extra years to help push this inevitable hit to a time after you dump a lot of these other big deals. This should save $25-30M against the 2025 cap without adding a shitton to 2026 since you will now have 3-4 years to take some of the weight.

These 2 moves get you around $15M over the cap before you start messing with some of these other deals. Extend Taysom/Sheppard, tweak Cam's
