Mel Kiper's mock draft 4.0 just dropped (2 round mock)

He has us taking QB Shedeur Sanders in round 1 and CB Azareye'h Thomas from Florida State in round 2

Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
If Sanders doesn't go to the Giants, there aren't many clear landing spots for him in the top 10 ... and he could slide. I could see a team trading up for him -- maybe even the Saints, who have nine picks -- but most of these rosters are already set at quarterback. This is a great outcome for New Orleans, though. I like this match a lot.
Sanders is my top-ranked quarterback, and his accuracy jumps off the tape. He completed 74% of his throws last season despite being under constant pressure. Playing in the NFC South with good weather and a few indoor stadiums would ease any arm strength concerns. And he wouldn't be forced to play right away. Derek Carr, 34, will be with the Saints for at least another season; Sanders could learn behind him before taking over

Azareye'h Thomas, CB, Florida State
Thomas has the length and speed to contribute as a rookie, even if it's rotating in behind Kool-Aid McKinstry and Alontae Taylor. He looked great at the Senior Bowl in January, and he broke up 17 passes over the past two seasons.

I like that Thomas pick at 40.
I would like EDGE or OT at 9. If neither of this positions are on your board as a top 10 talent, trade back a few spots to get a couple extra picks to use to trade up for another second round pick. Then you can get one a top Edge with Thomas at 40 and the extra 2nd going to OL.

I didn’t watch any of his games. But you look at his stats and they are impressive.
Lowest completion rate was 65.9% his freshman year.
His senior year of 74% no matter what level shows accuracy. Hell Burrow was 76.3% his heisman year and Daniels was 72.17%. So besides being Deons son and his attitude what’s the hate on him?

He also has CB Trey Amoos of Ole Miss going around there, #44 to Dallas

I felt like he lofts a lot of 50/50 balls but there’s no arguing his accuracy

No qb at 9. But especially Sanders. If this was the year Drew retired it would be different. Don't need that diva on the team.

Shedeur is more polished than people give him credit for. His offensive line was so horrible the last two years.
I hope the Saints don't trade up to pick him, but I would be excited, if he fell to #9.

he doesn't get rattled in the pocket so that's big.
you have to figure there were a lot of quick hitters he threw? In the NFL there would be several designed plays like that also, I guess.
but when the play breaks down that is the key.
At least he's willing to stand in there. Having guts in the pocket definitely is a great starting point?

To be fair, Burrow and Daniels did it against SEC defenses. Sanders did it against air.

Yeah I'm sure the Sanders circus would be willing to sit for a year. It's in their nature to not seek the spotlight.

Shadeurs attitude? Kid is a class act. That has never been an issue with him
ETA. Deion is a family man of faith respect and hard work. Yeah. He is a loud mouth frog. But he has always led by example and has also never been in any kind of trouble.

I get it but that’s personal opinions of people. I was trying to make the point that from a football stand point.

Lot of people played air and couldn’t complete 74%.

Kellen Moore and Colt McCoy are a couple that come to mind that accomplished it.
