Last half of the season:
23 carries 212 yards

That's 9.21 yds/carry. Granted its a small portion, but that's the point of the thread.

Our Runningback Season YPC:
Bush: 5.6
Bell: 3.8
Thomas: 5.4
Hamilton: 3.6

Why isn't this a bigger story?

He's actually signed through next season,

I am really pleasantly surprised by his improved running. Hopefully he gets more carries but in reality I am not sure how many more he can take without getting hurt. He's pretty fragile as is. You can definitely see a lot more of his potential being reached in the running game these days.

The improved focus on running has helped all our running backs.

He doesn't go 50 every touch, so the hate will continue

Part of me says yes since he deserves it from his production.

But the other part tells me our offense has been awesome in about 11 or 12 or so of 15 games so I don't think we should tinker with it too much.

I wouldn't mind him getting a few of Bell/Hamilton's carries, but definitely don't want to see Thomas's carries go down.

And my Brother still likes to say that Reggie Bush sucks. I wanna see Reggie kick it in the Playoffs.

I keep wondering whether all of the time he missed this year in games and practices has actually caused him to be a bit fresher and more explosive at this point in the season than other players who are worn down.

I think the Saints will try to get Reggie the ball more now that it's money time and we aren't protecting his fragile body anymore.

But remember we have Lance Moore hopefully coming back and he could conceivably eat up a lot of touches. Ditto for Shockey.

I'm not sure there are enough balls to go around with all the weapons we'll have.

alejandro we dont see eye to eye necessarily, esp with Jason David (never happier to see someone cut), but this is true with reggie, SP know Reggie can go down any play, and he is not 100 % recovered from his surgery...

If Reggie is resigned, I hope his knee is stronger next year, they obviously were limiting his touched to protect his health this season...

Can Reggie have a Fitgerald-like awakening in the playoffs?

I call B.S. on this one...his touches are limited because they have so many weapons to spread the ball around...I like how he is being used so effectively when he is in there.
