I honestly have never really gotten why he continually grades out so high. I don't think he sucks but he definitely shouldn't be in the discussion for the money people have speculated he'll have coming his way.
as Underhill points out...looks like the Mike Williams TD was his goof, not Robinson's...ETA: falsely accused marcus. It was PJ
He's not really a playmaker and still makes very costly mental mistakes at crucial times.
Good enough for what we're paying him currently, not sure about much more than that. I'm sure we can find another safety to be average for cheaper.

Marcus Williams is the other safety, #43.

Between Williams and Jenkins, I don't know which one is playing worse this year. Both seem to take the wrong angles every snap.

Yeah the guy you circled is pj williams, although i agree with the premise that williams doesnt deserve huge money

That image and then how much ground he makes up tells me we're 100% using him wrong.
Let him play deep and let him go sideline to sideline because dude is definitely athletic enough to do it.

This is correct but it's gonna be funny watching posters swear that's Marcus. He has made his share of bad plays but this isn't one of them.

That’s Jenkins
No it's not. Jenkins is assisting in a bracket coverage with Davis on the underneath receiver just beyond the 1st down marker in that still shot.

One thing that gets lost in all our analysis is we have no way of knowing what their responsibility was on a given play.
We were often critical of Roman Harper and then come to find out Williams wanted him coming down in the box so much to help with the run or play the slot or TE.
Robinson looked as if he thought he had help over the top, but maybe he was confused on the coverage.

Then you have Anzalone & Davenport bracketing the other TE #84. There was no reason for PJ Williams to try to assist the coverage Jenkins & Davis had underneath.
Also, the position Davis is in allows him bracket that receiver along with Jenkins but he is also in position to come downhill on the RB if Herbert had decided to check the ball down.
If PJ Williams stays his arse deep like he is supposed to, that's a sack as Herbert was getting pressured as he made the throw.

They were in a 2 deep shell with bracket coverage underneath. Both outside corners were supposed to have safety help over the top. Read my post about the bracket coverages.
Lattimore & Marcus Williams do their job to one side of the field. The bracket coverage underneath works well too. PJ Williams had no reason to try to jump a route (his blunder led to 3 defenders covering 1 receiver) where the receiver underneath him was already bracketed. PJ Williams blew his responsibility in that coverage. It's why after the play was over PRob pointed & had the look of "where was my safety help?"

How about you edit it so people don't still think it's Marcus?
