Every time I’ve watched the Chiefs play this year I notice that Mahomes is throwing to wide open receivers more often than not. My point being he’s not having to fit many balls into tight windows, and when he forced to do so, he is not very effective. On the other hand Brees has mastered this skill. Just an observation and something that I think is aiding in his inflated stats.
I still think he is very good, but maybe not quite as good as the numbers suggest.

An Andy Reid offense will do that for a QB. Go and take a peek at who was number 1 in passer rating last season.

All i know is i sure as shite wish we had him for when Brees retires. The kid is good man. Can’t take anything away from him.

Look what Reid did for McNabb. He was a decent QB but Reid's system helped him be that much better. Post Reid he started to go to shite.

I made it clear in my OP that I think he is very good, but maybe his stats are inflated due to scheme and talent around him.

They are inflated. He wouldn’t put up these numbers in Buffalo

Hill, Watkins, Kelce, Hunt is probably the best skill position players in the NFL. It helps throwing to guys who are just always better than the defense.

Mahomes buys an extra second or two with his feet. That allows the receivers to get open.
