Never have been a Shanlee torch bearer but you can do worse.

The wish he would leave mantle...

I can't see signing a very good player with the intention to switch his position. Lofton will play Mike. If Vilma is in the league, on our team, and Lofton is healthy, he'll have to play Will. Hawthorne will play outside, not sure which position. Again, you don't sign a guy to a nice contract with the intention of him sitting. I'm hoping the three starters are Lofton, Hawthorne and Wilson. Only, I don't know enough about Hawthorne to say he has the speed to play Will. But in my mind, those are the three best LBs on the team. Vilma has lost a couple of steps and for a guy who fully relies on speed, its tough. His size prevents him from being able to shed and he gets lost in traffic. He's done if he doesn't fully recover from last year's injury.

Not fair to throw him in there he was good until he got old and injured. They just never got anyone who was, well, they never got anyone...Except Alex Molden and Jerod Cherry.

I seriously hope Shanle isn't starting this year!

I still say you put Vilma at the strong, because he was having a tough time of it at MLB last year.

Everyone assumes that because Tez is fairly big and faster than any DEs we have, then he would fit at DE. There's more to getting at the QB than being big and fast.

he was still pretty raw as a LB last year. He really didn't see the field much until the later part of the season. He proved to be an effective blitzer at times, he definitely has the speed. He has the long arms that you want a DE to have. I'm sure he could get off the ball quicker than most of our guys at DE but like you said, there is more to it than that. Would he use his speed and dip the shoulder or would he play too tall and get engulfed by the OT? How would he fair against the run? I'd like to see him get some chances there honestly but it does seem like a stretch. It was hard to get a read on him since he didn't play that much last year but it seems like he has good upside.
