Guy has produced in the NFL.

If a UFA gives you 50 catches you are winning.

Treadwell? Lol

And Fitzgerald was much faster than 4.75

4.75 WRs do not exist. Can’t think of one besides Anquan Boldin

Football isn't running the 40.

4.7 and 4.4 aren't that much different when you have a WR with fludity.
Hesitation and great hands can make up the difference.

He is a UFA.

It is a no lose situation.
What other UFA WR would you have brought in?

I don’t care that they brought him in. I’m just telling you he is slow & 4.75 WRs don’t play in the nfl

So they don’t, but they do.

Nice take.

There have been a lot of them.

Get a stopwatch and stop at 4.39 and stop at 4.7.

Notice how much of a difference that is.
When you are running a route.
There are other factors involved.

You are just trying to troll.

You haven't produced a better WR to take his UFA spot.

Then I’m sure you can name some for me?

Imagine Ted Ginn racing Zach Line.

Please don’t ever give that take in public

Football isn't a straight line sport.

The Saints don't run exclusively verticals.

Lol I don’t care who they bring in. The WRs are basically set. He’s just a camp body

None of his other athletic metrics stand out. He isn’t overly explosive, his change of direction is average. And he is slow as shite. Its all tied together. It’s not about running vertical.

Watched him only a few times, not nearly as much as some of you...but here's my fear. Sometimes guys with this profile find themselves unable to handle the step up in athleticism to the NFL. They're just quick enough to get in decent position against the bigger college defenders and just big enough to body up the smaller, quicker ones. Then they step up to the NFL where most DBs are both bigger AND faster, and for some guys it doesn't end up mattering HOW big their catch radius is--they can't even establish position to take advantage of it. Not saying that'll be the case for Humphrey; just to maybe keep it in mind.

And Jerry Rice had run 40s several tenths faster than Humphrey coming out of college, so that doesn't really apply here.

You didn't use a draft pick.

You said Treadwell.
Minnesota used a first round draft pick on him.
Mike Mayock was telling everyone how great he was.

Treadwell has about 60 catches in the NFL.
If Humphrey makes the roster and produces what Treadwell has.
That means that the Saints were able to find a player who produces without using a draft pick.

I use Treadwell because if you look at his college tape you see a guy that you think could be an all pro nfl player

Then you look at his speed & explosion (4,63/ 33” vert / 9’9” broad) & he is on the back end of the spectrum as far as athleticism for an nfl WR. Yes, there are good technicians with this type of athleticism, but they are at the end of the road.

When you look at Humphrey’s, he is out of the spectrum all together.

This shite matters esp at WR.

Honestly? I look at Humphrey and see "Boo Williams" tattooed all over him.
