-exactly. Now if we can see Daniel play first that should be the plan.

Don't get too excited if Pressley or Woods are kept over Clancy either. Guaranteed contract being the same reason. If they want Clancy more likely to add him after Week 1.

---------------

possible curve on the radar-

keep only 3 running backs + Heath

Betts and Wynn will prolly still be available a few weeks into the season at least

He doesn't put Zak Keasey on the 53, but had him as the last player he cut, saying that Keasey has played well on special teams and could make the 53 based on his performance there.

Good point AND it would be a backup FB on the roster if need be. That was pretty sucky last year with Eckel

And Heath Evans is still not 100%, as witnessed by his limited practices and the fact that he didn't play on Friday.

Ramsey would be more likely to be picked up than Chase Daniel would, imo.

Anyone could have had Ramsey for months before the Saints picked him up. He had some sniffs but no takers. No QB situation come to mind that would move him up the ladder from that. He might even go to the UFL and stay fresh.

anyone could have picked up Daniel last year the numerous times the Saints cut him too.

Ramsey has showed in the preseason that he can play. If a team needs a back up, they would take the veteran who can quickly learn and play in any system and not the guy with ZERO NFL snaps who more than likely has benefited from being in the Saints system.

im not sure either would be a hot commodity anyway.

made me LOL, true

Thankful that this or 4th string RBs is our discussion these days. It wasn't so long ago when we were looking at other teams cuts to pick up as starters

Excellent point Blues, 6th WR, 7th LB, and 5th RB, it wasn't that long ago.

i agree with this, but Daniel's youth gives him a slight edge IMO. Ramsey is done if this saints thing doesn't work out.

to the Saints, yes.

To other teams? No, not really.

you figure if another team is going to sign one of these guys, it won be to develop him. It will be to backup a QB, and they'll want the guy with experience. Just the way i see it. There arent many young #2 QB's around the league for a reason.

I think the Las Vegas Locos might want him over Tim Rattay. That wouldn't be bad, getting reps there.

I see Daniel as a better qb now though and a better qb for years to come.

That's not my point. Im talking about other team's interest.

I dont see a team trusting him as their backup based on 2 quarters vs the Texans in a preseason game. He has some value to the Saints, but to other teams, not so much

You have to go back to 2004 when Patrick Ramsey was last relevant in the NFL.

As a straight backup Ramsey, as an investment on a PS Daniel more value IMO

The question came quickly to New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis on Monday afternoon when he addressed the city's Touchdown Club chapter at a Warehouse District luncheon.

"Who is the team's No. 2 quarterback?" asked a member.

"Chase Ramsey," Loomis quipped immediately, as if he knew the question would be coming.

In fact, Loomis said as the tense laughter subsided, that decision has not been made.

"We've got another game left to sort that out," he said, in reference to the Saints final preseason test Thursday night in Nashville against the Titans.
