this post is retarded. AJ Green is a top 10 receiver - probably top 5 in the next year or so.
Here's our best CB from several photos last season...
Ok. We also aren't acting like Jabari Greer is the 2nd coming of Deion Sanders either.

hah, don't know about all that.
It was. Also, Cincy's D is pretty legit. They'll be a playoff team again. They're pretty solid all around. Maybe not SB winner/contenders... but they're also young as hell.

Are you really knocking Greer right now? The dude has played on an island with virtually NO safety help against every team's top receivers week in and week out against teams that are almost always having to throw deep to catch up with our offense, and he rarely gets burned. He has been one of the best corners in the league for a while now. frickin hater

not a combination.... definitely an upgrade to some of what you had before, but still not enough to stop top flight talent of the best offenses in the NFL....
add a lack of RB depth, and losing the heart and soul of the defense (Curtis Lofton) and i see a long, long season in the ATL.....
not hating, and yes i'm a saints fan, but that's just the reality of the situation... the saints have their own issues (payton being out, suspensions, etc.), but we have gotten much better on defense, and the only change on offense was replacing our Pro Bowl LG with another Pro Bowl LG... basically we replaced #1, with #1A.... no drop off whatsoever to a record breaking group....

You're not "OUR"!
You will never be part of "OUR"!
Don't ever include yourself in the general consensus of Saints fans on this board ever again.
Also, way to be the only troll in this thread where everyone is having a little fun at the Falcon's expense. I guess I can take comfort in the fact that you are getting back to your trolling ways and will soon be banned again.
DoubleDown - you're still cool in my book.

You'll never hear TRUE Falcons fans boast about the secondary (minus Grimes). They haven't been strong since Deion's prime over 15 year ago.

I don't think the Falcons are thin at RB. I actually believe Jacquizz(sp?) Rodgers has been a better back during pre-season. Add in Snelling and they're a pretty good group. Multiple stats show this from last year.

Saints brainwashing there. Without a doubt it was Weatherspoon last season. Lofton might have had slightly better numbers but only because Spoon was in his 2nd year.

This could be true. But if that happens, I can 100% assure you that it'll be because the OLine sucked miserably.

so you only use the stats that make your point look good? this doesn't make any sense.... if you are gonna talk about stats, then you are gonna have to also explain why Lofton was the better defender than Witherspoon.... look, SW is the future, and he's a damn good player.... i was wanting him so bad in NOLA, but it didn't happen.... ya'll got him.... but let's not sit here and jerk each other around like Lofton wasn't the best player that defense had for the years he was there.... he was a definite thorn in our side and i, for one, am very glad he's with us and not against us anymore....

I'm going to go ahead and be honest and not flame DD here.
I think Samuel is an improvement. Grimes is good. Samuel is still good. Your safeties are a liability. Weatherspoon is legit...tackling machine. Piera Jerry is a nice DT. Abraham may have lost a step, but is still a formidable pass rusher. Top to bottom, your D is above average. They were last season and there is no reason to think otherwise with a new D Coordinator who is pretty good in his own right.
The Falcons biggest problem is O (mainly, DD, you said it, OLine). If Ryan gets time, he can be as good as anyone. What he likes to do is get it to his receivers short and let them run. With Jones, White, and Douglas, he needs to get them deep. Turner will be a top RB in the first 8-10 games but will fade if they run him 25+ times a game. They need to give him some rest, but they have noone else that can run the ball behind that Oline. Tony G is on his last leg. Still pretty good, but has to rely solely on technique and he faded late last season. Expect the same. Dude is a hall of famer, but is just old.
I don't expect them to lose more than 6 but could win as many as 12/13 if they take one from the Saints. However, if the Oline gets exposed early, or you lose a key player (no depth), it will be a long season.

I honestly feel that the Falcons organization has motivated Lofton to try to be a more complete LB. He will be a 3down guy for the Saints and I truly feel that you will be coming back here in week 9 or 10 pissed at how well he is playing.

Well he's dropped 15 pounds. He looks fast on the field so far.
