Let's play a different, more fun draft game...

**SHORT VERSION***
Get $12m salary cap. Buy as many/few rookies as you can fit given their cost, which is based on a plethora of mock drafts. Check/print out "Draft Order" to see how much they are worth if they are drafted at a given position and compare to cost. Example: Clowney costs $3.9m. The #1 pick is worth $4.2m, so you make $300k profit if he goes #1. The #6 pick is worth $3m, so you lose $900k if he goes 6th.
Only players drafted in the top 3 rounds are worth anything, so if you buy a player that is drafted in the 4th, you lose everything. Prices are updated daily so you can sell a player and use profit on different ones if you want. Go to the site and use code 885B8FC7 to enter league (15 player limit per league)
****SHORT VERSION*****
Stumbled upon a website called playthedraft.com when one of the writers I follow on twitter posted about it a few days ago. Just now looking into it. This is a bit long winded but it sounds fun as frick. Some details are still a bit sketchy but here's the gist of it (my explanation is better than the site's ultra vague one):
-You're given a $12m salary cap to spend on however many rookies you can buy with that money.
-The monetary value of the players changes daily based on where they are expected to be drafted (apparently they base this off of a couple dozen "reputable" mocks). So, for example, Clowney is the highest priced player at $3.9m. The cheapest players are valued at $425k.
-You need to click on "Draft Order" at the top and see what the actual values are for where they are drafted. I would recommend printing it out so you can easily look at it while you buy players. So looking at that, the #1 pick gets credited with $4.2m. So if you purchased Clowney (that sounds kind of racist) at $3.9m and he goes #1, you made $300k. That's a great return, but you can only fit 3 Clowneys under your salary cap. Jordan Matthews is valued at $780k. If he gets drafted by the Jets at 18, you make ~$900k. You can fit about 17 Jordans under your cap compared to 3 Clowneys.
-You only get credit for players drafted in the first 3 rounds. If you take a chance on, say, Antonio Richardson being drafted higher than his value, but he gets drafted in the 4th round, you lose all $650k that you invested in him.
-You can sell players if you think that they have gone from a good value to a bad one, then use the profit to purchase better values.
-Unfortunately, you cannot short sell players with values higher than you feel are appropriate.
-The stock market shuts down on draft Thursday and the person with the most valuable lineup at the end of round 3 wins.
So that's it. Go to the site and use league invite code: 885B8FC7
The league is limited to 15 members (though the forum I read a lot of details on said that they managed to add more, but it seems inconsistent). Since there is a limited number of participants, I would prefer that the people asking for an invite keep up with the goings ons. Nothing crazy, just maybe once a week. Just don't want anyone signing up and never checking again (or not even using their full cap space). If it fills up, someone else can start a group and continue using this thread.

It takes 5 minutes to read/understand the game and can provide entertainment over the next month.

My biggest recommendation is to print out the draft order/pick value sheet to look at while buying players.

10 in. Let's get 5 more. Anyone that signs up would already be ahead of 4 of us. I lost $21,261 last night. Another beating like that and I'm going to have to decide which of my kids doesn't go to college.
