Has the Saints getting Jeremiyah Love at #8

NFL.com

Love instantly reduces the workload from Tyler Shough's shoulders as a three-down home run hitter.

Also has Mendoza going #1 to Raiders, Mansoor Delane at #4 to the Titans and Bain going one pick ahead of us to Washington at #7.

If 2 corners go in the top 5, Mickey will cream his jeans.

TWO corners in the top 10? And we pass on Sonny Styles? No way that happens

The rb are a high value position guys will disagree with you but my lord passing on styles would be the dumbest thing we did since signing Carr to that contract.

I've watched everything I can find on Styles. He's big and fast but...
You see him in a Perk role. Free roaming usually clean when he fires at the ball. I seldom saw him dealing with olineman at the second level which will be common at the pro level. He looks and plays like a safety in the box. Would like to know what you guys see. Seems a team needs to have a detailed plan for such talent.

I think a lot of that depends on where they use him and how they use him. I would imagine the Zach Baun role the eagles use him in. The thing is, he’s 3 times the athlete and player Baun is. I don’t think you’ve seen half the things Styles is even capable of. I’d love to see how he develops as a pass rusher.

Gotta remember also that I think Staley has a lot more freedom with his linebackers in this scheme. Heck, Parsons was originally drafted as a LB. I think he would be able to find a role for him

He has the freakish ability to play the 3rd safety role that's becoming a major cog in modern defenses while having legit LB size. So unlike a Kyle Hamilton or Nick Emmanwori, who are large for safeties (6-3, 220 range), he's a legit LB who could theoretically move into that role. In theory, he could be a legit unicorn that can play 4 different roles on D (off ball LB, edge, nickel back, 3rd safety). Kind of makes him a different positional value proposition than just "OLB" or "S".

I have come around on Love only because of the lack of elite talent at elite positions this draft.

Styles, Love, Downs, In that order (Downs not performing at the combine is a major red flag to me, and he had multiple injury flags which may make me eliminate him from my list entirely).

If Bailey somehow slides to us, it would be insane not to pick him, but that's probably just mock draft stuff and not IRL stuff.

Staley runs the same scheme as Vangio. So yes, he’d out styles in wild places but i do believe the Baun role is where he’d play. And that to me would be scary for this defense.

Styles worries me that high. He was a borderline bottom of the first pick before he blew up the numbers at the combine. Now everyone has him top ten....Always worries me when a guy jumps that high based on numbers put up without pads on.

Styles is a "bust" if picked top 10.

There is absolutely a way it happens, though I would not be a fan of passing on Styles

Delane and McCoy are not both going that early

The early reports BEFORE the combine seemed to suggest the Saints wanted to go defense at 8 but I’m not so sure now.

I fully believe that Reese, Bain and Bailey will be gone. I also think the Browns go Tackle at 6. But I think the Giants take Styles at 5 and the Commanders take Love at 7. I could even see the Titans taking Love at 4. And if that happens maybe Bain falls but I’m still just eh about him cuz of the length.

I think we end up with Carnell Tate. I’d rather wait on WR because there’s good depth there but there’s actually good depth at a number of positions. Safety, LB, EDGE all seem to have guys that can be impact players in Rounds 2-3. And I’m sure that’s the case for WR as well but Tate would still be the best player on the board if the draft shakes up like this:

1. Mendoza
2. Reese
3. Bailey
4. Bain
5. Styles
6. Fano/Freeling
7. Love

Normally I’d say take Downs but not testing at the combine, not great measurables and now reports about possibly degenerative knee issues…maybe it’s just his team trying to get him to go lower to a team he actually wants but those are a lot of red flags for me. And I’m not so sure a guy like Dillon Thieneman in the 2nd wouldn’t end up being better.

Before the combine I hardly ever saw him mocked lower than 15 to the Bucs and leading up to the combine it was more like 10-12ish with the Cowboys being the most popular.

He’s always been a really really good player but was overshadowed by Downs and Reese and he plays off ball.

I believe Fano is going to fall because of his arm length and testing, he is now being seen as a guard. I think it'll be one of Mauigoa/Freeling for Cleveland there.

If Love goes to Tennessee, Bain could fall to Washington and I hope they take him and not Tate. Nightmare scenario if Freeling/Love/Tate are all gone, then we'd be left with Downs and his recently revealed injury concern.

I think we would have the pick between Mauigoa, Downs and Delane

It’s coming out now that this was most likely bullshite by some teams in an attempt to have him fall

McAfee was on his show and said that multiple league sources told him they have zero concerns with Downs medically.

For now, my pick is Downs or Tate until there’s more info about Downs. I’m going to act like it was a BS report. If he actually does have degenerative knee issues, that will become more and more reported as we get closer to draft time. And I doubt the team would select him at 8 if that were the case. That would come up during the extensive physicals they have to do

I feel that he’d say it’s bs because they are pro player, but I believe it is a real condition. I don’t think any team would lie about something that could be verified

It’s more likely they’re trying to say it won’t affect him jmo
