this is way more likely than actually trading back. But this

quote:

33. Jeff Gladney, CB TCU

seems like a reach to trade back into the second round for.

Gladney is considered a first round talent by some and a for sure second rounder. AJ Terrell wouldn’t be a bad pick either or Jaylon Johnson, if either are there.

Gladney is a guy we’ve met with a few times as well.

keep an eye on this guy. Could be a very good late round pick

Could also be that they use 33 on someone like Aiyuk, Pittman or Reagor and then use 88 on a guy like Cam Dantzler

But I prefer the combo of Gladney/Duvernay

I'd hate to trade a 1st or any high pick next year not knowing if Brees will be back... that could be a very high pic

Really like the idea of trading some 2021 picks to get back into the second round. Could have as many as 10 picks next year- the hell are we going to do with all those?

Not relevant. If you believe we are a playoff team with Brees, then our 2021 pick will be in the mid 20s to 32. It will be our 2022 pick that could be very high without a suitable replacement for Brees.

Good draft but damn I hate to part ways with next year's first.

Gladney is a first round talent though. I wouldn’t be upset if we took him at 24. This is a really deep draft and you are expecting to have a late pick next year. If that is the case then you are not giving up that much. Biggest negative is the loss of the 5th year option.

How so? Duvernay at 88 is likely and so is Gibson at 130. Maybe Harris? Trading out first for 33 doesn’t seem likely. It would prolly net something in the 40’s and likely wouldn’t give us 180.

But getting a low 30’s or high 40’s for the first rounder isn’t out of question.

Part of me hates parting with a 1 but next years 24-32 isn’t bad for this years 33 and another pick. I’d probably prefer that to be for a WR if that doesn’t get taken in 1st.

I think most people assume at this point that Gladney will go in the First Round.

Not a huge fan of trading future 1sts at this point. I know we are all in, but I think this is the year we have to start planning for life without Brees, and a 1st round pick could be essential next year.

There's definitely things to like about this draft a lot. I really like Duvernay and Gibson.

I would not part with next year's #1 unless it was for a trade up to get a young QB in the 1st round.

I don’t see a 2021 first being as essential as a 2022 first. I mean let’s be honest here, they’re going to name Taysom the starter next year anyway, so it’s not like we’re going to be going after a QB.

And the pick is probably going to be in the 24-32 range anyway. I wouldn’t hate it. There are also other scenarios where they get back into the 2nd round with a 2021 second round pick and 88.

I really like the picks.

I was hoping to get Gordon with our 6th round pick.

He is an intriguing QB late in the draft.

Love the first 3 picks.

I would freak out if they traded up and gave up a second rounder for a corner. Love some of these picks though. I wouldn’t give up a first. Not a chance.

I think you at least want to have that option. And let's face it, when you are dealing with a QB in their 40s, you can just never know when things are going to go South.

You really, really want to have options and ability to get a franchise QB if either one falls or you think you need to do it.
