Tutu Atwell, WR, Louisville
The Saints are another cash-strapped team that must build its roster through the draft, and they lost some serious talent in free agency. The list below doesn't even including future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees, who retired earlier this month. With Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill battling for the QB1 spot, let's add a playmaker around whomever wins the starting spot. The 5-foot-9 Atwell reminds me a little bit of former first-round pick Marquise Brown, who has flashed in two seasons with the Ravens. Atwell is explosive and could be used on jet sweeps. He is dynamic with the ball in his hands. Line him up outside and in the slot, and get him the ball.
Notable free-agent additions: FB Alex Armah
Notable free-agent losses: QB Drew Brees, DE Trey Hendrickson, TE Jared Cook, CB Justin Hardee, WR Emmanuel Sanders, DT Sheldon Rankins

Atwell's highlights are pretty impressive.

lol at anyone who cares what Kiper thinks. Kiper is paid to entertain, not come close to being accurate.

So, his solution to the loses are to get someone to run the exact same role as Harris? Sure, he may be a better deep threat, but there has to be better options at the WR position if that's what he thinks they will target

that would be an intriguing pick. We would automatically have 0ne of the fastest players in the league, as well as a legit deep threat. But his size is a problem, as are his iffy hands.

Exactly what I was thinking. Seems he was just like, "I think Atwell is good, let's throw darts to see who will take him."

WR in round 1 is a luxury we can’t afford when we have 1 starting CB, LB and DT.

saints do tend to draft BPA over need these days, so it's possible we take that wr. i really hope that is not the case though. defense is so thinned out right now.

I could see us taking Bateman or Marshall if the Saints see them as BPA. We could use a WR to complement Thomas. But I don't see how Atwell is BPA there- he's a fringe first rounder at best in most rankings.

This is such a different year than years past for us where we were doing everything to keep the super bowl window open. Anyone who thinks they know what this front office will do in this draft better not stake their careers on their opinion cause they will be wrong.

I officiated his State Championship game when he was at Miami Northwestern as a QB. Don't like to use our first round pick on him, but he would be fun to watch in our offense.

Unless we can sign some free agents, we have huge holes at CB, LBer and DT that have to be filled in the draft.
