I want no part of Pickett. Sucked until his 5th year in college. Played in a trash conference. Small hands, weak arm. About to be 24 years old. He’s poor man’s Joe Burrow, without the intangibles that make Burrow awesome.

this is exactly what Cowturd said the other week, why did it take him so long to break out? he's got a very low ceiling if he hasn't already reached it

I see a lot of people saying shite like this, but you'll change your tune again when the Saints sign no more notable WRs and then draft a defensive player or an iOL in the first. The reality is, if the team would just go out and actually spend money on real WRs right now we wouldn't be in a position that we are where everyone feels like we HAVE to draft a WR..

No pretty sure the smarter move is to try and find a franchise QB. If he's there at 18 you draft him and have him sit a year to learn.

Bingo! The luxury of having Winston for only two years. If Winston balls out extend his contract, if not we have our potential franchise QB waiting on a cheap rookie contract.

I disagree. I'm saving that pick for next yr unless it's willis.

He didn’t only have one good year! Yes this past year was the best but he had a pretty good ‘19 and ok year in Covid stricken ‘20

Look it’s all a crapshoot as far as I’m concerned. I would not move up for any QB this year but if he’s there I would take the chance. WRs come a dime a dozen. The best one (arguably) to ever put on a saints jersey was picked in the 7th round I believe in Colston. With such a lot of talented OTs and WRs I feel like if you had to you could wait till the second and or 3rd.

If one of the top 5 OTs are there with Pickett…I would totally understand if they just couldn’t pass up the OT. Also, if London is there (which there’s no way he last IMO) you run up and get him

Also I wouldn’t mind getting Howell in the second. Just a huge chance to take hoping he’s still around. I think he might end up being the best QB outta this class

Unfortunately, yes. That’s what he was thinking

And hey, if neither one of those guys pan out we can just scan free agency and pick up a QB that a speed rating of 80 or higher and plug him into the offense

Not exactly a shock. With Crab Legs as our QB I'd be interviewing everybody including Joe Namath.

4319 yards, 42 tds and only 7 ints. Yeah he sucked. I'd say Willis played in the trash conference. The hands thing has gone far enough. I don't care if he has the hands of a Ken doll, can he throw and secure the ball effectively? If yes, then I'm in!

Not a strong arm and issues with fumbling. The exact reasons people are worried about his hand size.

Willis is intriguing cause of his physical tools. The guy is also great in interviews and seems like a natural leader. Incredible athlete with a big arm.

Your post was dumb.

With Winston, the saints do not have to reach for a QB and get into that franchise destroying loop of wasting picks on average at best and unproven rookie QB's. If the QB is no better than Winston TODAY then don't waste the pick.

Chasing potential is the worst mistake the saints could make.

Burrow sucked until his last year.

I don't see a weak arm at all. Has ENOUGH arm to do whatever we need him to do. We rode an average arm strength QB to the hall of fame.

I don't waste first round picks based on "Intrigue".

Take a read at your post that is expecting us to use a first on an "intriguing" project player. Nah, I'd rather go with the high floor player. For every Josh Allen there's a Carson Wentz.

Winston's Contract is really a 1 year 15.2 mil deal. 4 mil is guaranteed in 2023 for injury only.

No he didn’t. He just didn’t play cause he was stuck behind talented qb’s. Burrow’s first year at LSU in a brand new system in the SEC was arguably better than all of Pickett’s seasons except the last.

Brees is the most accurate qb ever and his anticipation allowed him to be a great deep ball thrower until his arm was all the way gone. But hey, you think Pickett is a combination of Burrow and Brees so I’m all in.

Not sure you even understand the point I was making.

I never said this. I was just explaining why Willis will be drafted higher. Almost every qb is a project.

High floor? You have no clue what you are talking about if you think Pickett is a high floor player. You just called a probable career backup a high floor player.

By the way, the last thing you said explains scouting qb’s in general. Everyone is just guessing. And still, nothing about Pickett says “high floor”.
