Happens every year. Last offseason, we sign a dipshit QB and some no-name DTs and everyone is like PLAYOFFS!

Ya'll will fall for it again.

But the truth is that every season with Allen is a wasted year with zero chance to even make the playoffs.

Even if they make it, they wouldn't get past the divisional round. In March, a blind man could have seen how this season was going to play out. Carr would suck, they would still be in playoff contention because the NFC is down and the South sucks, and yet they wouldn't make it because Allen, Carmichael and Carr are incredibly bad at their jobs.

Why would any Saints fan want to re-run this in 2024?

This is a playoff roster my dude.

A good coaching staff could have found a way to win a lot more games….. even with Carr.

Sure, but I don't remember anyone touting this team as an actual contender. I remember most everyone saying bc of our division, we can make the playoffs

I'd like to see what Shane Waldron can do here. If the plan is keep Allen, I'd at least like to get someone in the shanahan or Mcvay staff as the oc

How many teams with a pulse have they beaten? We’re in the easiest division in the nfl with the easiest schedule. The only time they look remotely competent is against terrible QBs. SFDallas, philly would beat us by 40 or worse.

We’re old, we’re slow, we have a below average qb, and overpaid players across the board. The organization won’t rip the bands of off though.

Of course it matters. It’s all smoke and mirrors at best. Everyone knows this.

I'd like to see some of the posts after Carr signed that called us a contender. Most everyone said we'd be the favorite in a bad division

No they aren’t it’s an aging roster with declining former studs in Cam, Ram, DD, AK, etc.

The recent drafts have sucked thus the younger talent has not kept up. They’ve overborrowed on the cap and are in a lost decade of Saints football. If Loomis kicks the can hard this off-season it will be 2027 or beyond before we’re in a chance to be competitive.

Does that change that we have a shitty gm, a shitty coach, a shitty OC and an aging roster without much top end talent? This is a franchise selling out to get to mediocre the last few years.

Underhill will gas up the team in the offseason to produce excitement and sell subscriptions and most will gobble it up.

I think with the correct coaches in place this is a pretty good team. I've lost faith that Allen can turn this team into a good team

I can’t fathom how you can arrive at that conclusion when the team is 1.5 games from being in the playoffs with the worst coaching staff in the nfl

Well, the organization did. And there were some on this board, though it will be hard for them to will admit it now.

But you’re not going to get the correct coaches in place. That’s the point. Even if you fire Carmichael, you’re still gonna suck if you keep Allen. He’s not a good head coach. We have two years of mediocrity in New Orleans with a “pretty good” roster and they’re still talking about keeping him. Why?

And Carr isn’t a “pretty good” quarterback. He’s an empty stat filler who only succeeds when there is no pressure, either in the pocket, in the game or in the season. He’s afraid to get hit. He chokes under literal and figurative pressure. We have 10 years of evidence on this now.

No I want to believe.
Da sucks mickey is a number cruncher has no idea about skill set.
The front office and ownership are complacent and it will not get better until Gail's pocket book hurts.

Great insight here. What NFL team do you work for with the inside scoop like this? Team fanatics get excited for season is a code not many can crack. Hope you post a lot more.
