Per this guy on Twitter

Alvin Kamara had the inside of his knee stressed when a defender fell on him during a first-quarter carry. It's possible he suffered a mild MCL sprain. His return to the game was reassuring but the Saints will likely have him evaluated further on Monday.

He needs to take a week off. Chicago game doesn’t mean much in grand scheme of needing him healthy rest of year.

It's been past time to give Murray more run and save the wear-and-tear on AK. Payton's hand is going to be forced the hard way unfortunately.

Totally agree
It looks to me like Murray is getting it. And he’s been the better inside runner the last two weeks.

to be fair... losing to the Bears means a lot more than losing to the Jaguars

When Payton looks at the Bears-Raiders tape, he'll see that the best way to attack the Chicago defense. It's more speed than power so you better run downhill at them.

For enquiring minds, the interwebz say a mild MCL sprain can take a few days to two weeks to repair.

I’d sit him for the Bears and Cards tbh

We don’t need him to beat Arizona and I’ll take a loss to the Bears. Frick it. If it means we get a healthy Brees and healthy AK after the bye I don’t care

That's what Kyle Trask had wasn't it?

He looked good against LSU.

He shouldn't have played today. Latavius is a serviceable back but you need to give him a fb and let him put that great 1 cut speed to work.

I agree with this & was hoping they would pull him out at some point.

Even if he didn’t suffer an MCL sprain

I’d still sit him at least the Bears game. Let Murray work. He’s actually been more effective the last two games. I think Murray fits Bridgewater’s style of play better whereas Kamara fits Brees more since he’s more accurate and can fully take advantage of his receiving skills.

Do the Saints have enough to beat the Bears without Brees AND AK?

Kamara’s Long term health is worth a loss imo

Agreed. It takes 2 weeks to heal fully then take his helmet from him. That tweet was also pure speculation on that guy’s part. Kamara did come back and play.

But I also think Kamara is super important to our SB chances but for the last two weeks he’s been effectively taken out of the game and arguably Murray has played better. He’s been the stronger runner. With Teddy’s inaccuracy and him not being able to hit Kamara consistency, I don’t think we would be totally lost on O anymore than we already are. We’d be way more lost without Kamara when Brees comes back. Teddy looks for Ginn and Cook more in the offense than he does Kamara. I think we can survive the Bears and Cardinals without him

He played an entire game on that knee. If we are looking at playoff seeding, we need this Bears game. If he is at 50%, you play him with a pitch count. He can rest during the Cardinals and bye week. Don't see us beating that D without Kamara.

Florida’s QB was a beast Saturday night on a MCL sprain. Don’t let AK practice this week. Rest it and get ready for clutchness in Chicago.
