Just ran across the worst stat I've ever seen.

Sickening stat about brees

Absolutely unacceptable how often this happens.

Josh Dubow
@JoshDubowAP

Drew Brees lost for the 18th time in the regular season when his team scored 29+ points. That's the most in the NFL since the merger. Dan Marino and Eli Manning are next with 14

This seems wrong today. I thought the defense played pretty well, and drew and the offense (completely justified considering circumstances) took a long time to get going

I've accepted this and many other what-ifs & coulda-shoulda's regarding Brees' career/legacy as almost GOAT.

It just wasn't in the cards.

29+ points

What a ridiculously arbitrary number to stop at

Nonetheless, it still provides context.

What a joke. The defense was on the field all night. Show the stats from time of possession and third down conversions! The offense was a joke. Should’ve ran the ball more.

Actually, it provides very little context at all. How bad did we lose those games? Were we ever ahead or were we playing catch-up and scored some in garbage time? Etc...

When you have twice as many as the next 2 dudes combined, it sure does.

Unless it's a 1 in a million type outlier, it's pretty darn meaningful.

Blaming the defense in this game would be a weird take away

Saints defense over the years has screwed Brees out of many comebacks and wins. However today was not one of them. Offense was below average today and couldn't get anything going in the 1st 3 drives.

It didn't. It's an entire careers worth of data.

Can’t really pin that stat to Brees. He’s had horrible defenses most of his career here and was forced to try to out score opponents

If he can take credit for the thousands of end-game garbage yards those shite defenses were responsible for him getting than he can take some heat as well.

Crazy stat and it does suck, but defense wasn’t the problem tonight.

And at the end of the day KC scored within a point of their average and the Saints scored within a point of theirs. This game went how the numbers say. Well PPG anyway.
