Ug. I'd probably take a second round for him. But i think he could be good somewhere else

This. I love Ivory, but the dude is the epitome of injury prone.

You'd probably take a 2nd?

Ok.

Yeah I don't know that we'd end up getting a second for him, so if a third is the best option on the table, take it, use it and a later round pick to trade up into the 2nd and grab a guy like Jesse Williams.

I don't see us getting more than a 4th. Probably gonna be a 5th.

I think we get a 5th and a player. Maybe some young defender who the Jets really don't value but Saints see some promise in.

Or we swap positions in a round, giving us a higher pick.

We aren't getting a 3rd either for just Ivory. You people have been reading too many delusional retards on SR.

If we get a 4th, I'll jump for joy. A 5th is likely.

Well to be fair he was not hurt for the vast majority of his time on the pup list. We had a lot of juggling to do with the roster by keeping 5 backs last year. Don't you remember him bitching mid season because he was perfectly healthy?

If we don't get at least a 3rd round pick, we lose big time on this trade. Ivory is potentially our best running back. Pierre isn't getting any younger. Sproles is a 10 carry a game back at most, and Ingram sucks.

There is no scenario in which any team in the NFL gives a 3rd round pick for a constantly injured and fumble prone back like Chris Ivory. I'd be very surprised if we squeeze even a fourth out of this deal.

And RB's are a dime a dozen. Marshawn Lynch went for a 4th + future 5th. Plus trading Ivory frees up $2m that can be used in much better ways, like, say, upgrading from Strief (who was really bad last year) to Winston (who was really good last year).

Atleast this board is slowly coming down to earth. Last year it was "A 1st or second round pick would be what the Saints could get for Mark Ingram"

Idk when people will realize that RBs and MLBs have no value in trades, FA, or the draft in todays NFL unless you are Adrian Peterson

You would think Ivory was as good as AP if you were on SR.

I've come to the conclusion that most posters have no idea where to it comes to nfl trade worth or just how rare meaningful trades actually happen outside of draft day. None of us are experts but there is a solid nucleus of posters on here who realize what is at least is somewhat realistic.

It's also funny to see all the trade player a for player b comments. Those trades have gone the way of the dodo bird.

Maddens broken trade machine contributes to this.

It's gotten to the point where I just don't even try to make trades in Madden anymore.

Who was the RB that tore up preseason last year to the point where we kept him on the roster (practice squad?)... one of those Joe Morgan stories.

He could fill Ivory's shoes, I think
