Pray the jets go full tard and take him at 2 and let one of the pass rushers fall to us.

Halls going to get tagged if not resigned so that’ll rule out the jets

Underhill recently said he feels like the Saints are drifting away from offense at 8. Says he feels less sure of it.

Makes me think they’re not as in love with Lemon as what some of the national guys are saying AND that Love probably won’t be there at 8.

I think Delane, Downs or maybe even Sonny Styles might be the guys at 8.

I’d like one of those guys personally. It would be hard to pass up Delane with our corner need even though Downs and Styles are getting high praise

The more I look at it, if I’m dead set on defense and my guy is gone at 8, I would love to trade down and grab a Mesidor (who is ready to play at 25), Faulk?, Cashius Howell, R Mason Thomas, TJ Parker. The question is how far off are they do the top guys? Also I’m keeping a close eye on Caleb Banks at the combine. He feels like a guy who could sneak way up into the 1st

Trading down is tricky. If Downs, Love, Tate and Delane are on the board and you can trade down two or three spots, that’s a no brainer. Once you get to guys like Faulk, Tyson or Woods, questions start to emerge and I wouldn’t want questions. I want to get as sure a thing as I can get with the first pick.

I absolutely love Faulk. He really reminds me of Cam when he came out. I don’t know why he isn’t getting more love from people. He is a freak and he’s gonna be over 6’5 and 275 pounds. Auburn moved him all around last year and played him alot on the interior. He’s your perfect 5 tech. He’s elite against the run and needs to develop more in his pass rush. IMO he is going to play in this league a long time.

I mean, buzz is that teams are leaning toward not caring about Bain’s arm length. I think him and Bailey are gone by 8.

I think one of Downs or Delane will be there. I want a true difference maker and idk if the guys you mentioned will be that. Way more questions surrounding those guys.

I’m fine picking or passing on Love. This is a draft full of tented RBs, so passing on him is fine; however, you do it to grab a different premium player at a position that won’t be as deep, not because you don’t want to pay him.
Actually a pretty weak RB draft.

Ricky was a good RB for us, just not worth blowing your entire draft to get him.

Don't just look at Love as a RB. Roger Craig from the 1980s was just as big as a threat at RB as he was at receiving for the 49ers. If Love adapts well to multiple roles as claimed he could be a big help.

And for the record, if Bain (sp?) is there at eight I would pull the trigger to get him first but he'll be gone by then.
RW was fine for us and we got 2 #1s when we traded him to Miami. Also, Ditka was on record saying he would have drafted Cade McCown if he had not traded up, so we would have gotten a certified bust.

That’s not the argument. The argument is that high quality RBs are easily acquirable via FA.
Are they? Williams is gone. Hall will be tagged. That leaves Walker (who may not quite fit Moore's offense) or Etienne (already 27). After that, maybe Algeier?

Downs, Love, Styles are pretty “sure” things to me and there is a large enough gap between them and the next guy at their position to justify the pick.

But I think you can trade down in skill with Bain, Bailey, and Delane and still come up ok. Those guys are never sure things at those positions

Bain

Probably the only pick that would make me completely melt. Dude was invisible 3/4 of the season. Just a cool name , a good playoff, and some fb reel highlight plays. Dudes gonna blend in and never be special in the league.
